It's funny, that while Hololive is *now* known for the high level talent it attracts, that wasn't always the case. A lot of the early talents are sort of lost souls, arguably failures, that Yagoo (the CEO) saw a spark in, and took a chance on. One of my favorite stories being that of Oozora Subaru. She grew up sort of sickly. Born with a congenital heart issue (literally had a hole in her heart) she wasn't allowed to play outside much, and spent quite a few years living in a hospital. Eventually that all gets fixed, and she's able to live with her family again, and then her house burns down. So she applies to all sorts of part time jobs. Desperate to earn some money to help support herself and her family. She finds an advertisement for a company called Hololive. They're holding auditions for the 2nd Gen of their Vtubers. She doesn't really know what a vtuber is, or what they do. She was familiar with a virtual grandmother character she'd seen online, and figures it's something like that. She had basically no experience streaming. No real gaming experience. No real anime culture experience. But Yagoo saw something in her. And so, she was hired. And now she has over 1 million KZfaq subs, multiple original songs and music videos. Not bad for a Duck! Fuwawa and Mococo of FuwaMoco are hell pups. Nerissa is doing the solo bits with the big notes since she's the Demon of Sound. If you like this you're gonna LOVE HoloJustice, their rivals who debut recently.

The girls actually aren't neccesarily all amazing singers from the start. Often they're hired for other factors entitely, but because Hololive is an idol group, everyone is expected to sing eventually, and usually somehow within Hololive the girls are able to find a way to make it work. For instance, one of the JP talents, Shorogane Noel, was described as 'tone deaf' when people first heard her do karaoke, yet she's had three original songs now pass 2M views on KZfaq. In EN, there are certainly weaker singers, but even they put out stuff well recieved by fans. Here, Shiori Novella, the defacto leader of Advent with the split black/white hair, would be considered the weak link vocally, but the song was structured in a way that she sounds good too.

"What do the guys do?" Ok I dont follow the guys much but Banzoin Hakka did s metal cover of "My Roar" from Towa & has some bangers released of his own & Regis Altare played his Cello on his 3d showcase. Those 2 examples alone should tell you that Hololive boys are pretty talented themselves

The lore for the last two HoloEN gens have been quite interesting. This one, "Advent," is supposedly a group of fugitives. And the most recent one, "Justice," are the ones that are supposedly tracking them down. I don't think there's ever been inter-connected Hololive generations in terms of lore. Until these two gens came along. The one belting in this song is Nerissa btw. It kinda zooms in on Shiori but it's still Nerissa hitting those high notes. And yes, those were the FuwaMoco twins.They're dogs btw.

to answer some questions (at least to the best of my ability) all of the members of hololive go through many interviews and auditions before being selected to be a talent. I know that they are tested on the vocal ability but its not a necessity as there are many other things to take into consideration. But yes they do all have their "thing".

Ironmouse is from Vshojo, she is a streamer who happens to be an amazing singer. Hololive is a talent management agency and among the Members you can find streamers but streaming is not really the main focus (at least not anymore), they use streaming as a tool and of course it is very important for the newer talents. A lot of people think that Hololive is a streamers agency which they are not 😅 Live concerts, collabs with other IPs (anime,manga,music labels, sports etc) and merchandising are their priority. They also are promoted as idols so they have to be at least ok singing and dancing but first and foremost they are entertainers and each member chooses how to do it so you have members that stream a lot and others are more focused on specific things so they barely stream. Being a good streamer is not enough if you want to be part of Holopro.

7:16 well, yes, they all are talented in one way or another. All the hololive girls get dance lessons, and most if not all get vocal lessons as well. The holostars boys also get the same treatment (since holostars is the just the all men side of hololive production). Each member of both groups has their own talent, whether that be singing or art or just being a cracked gamer, but their all too some extent expected to release if not original songs, at least a cover or 2, in addition to their group songs. And also to take part in their live concerts (holofes happens in the spring every year in Japan, and the EN branch is about to have its second live concert in about a month). But yeah, the boys are just as talented as the girls are. Hakka has this really good metal/scream voice, Altare it's peak soft boi energy in his songs(plus he can play cello), Axel's covers have always felt a bit spicy, Shinri has this really deep manly man voice. Plus there's all the talent in the main JP stars branches.

Woo! I’ve been waiting for this one. Advent’s my favorite group in Hololive (Though Justice has recently taken a close second), and a big part of that is from them debuting just around the same time I’d say I joined the fandom. Advent is composed of Shiori Novella (the Archiver), Koseki Bijou (more commonly Biboo, the Gem of Emotions), Nerissa Ravencroft (the Demon of Sound), and Fuwawa and Mococo Abyssguard (Fuwamoco, twin demon guard dogs), and they a group of prison escapees, and are who Justice are actually chasing after. 3:06 Yeah you’d pass out, but rather from an impact, because they canonically joined Hololive to pay off their debt from crashing their getaway car into the offices. 5:10 Yep those are Nerissa’s holds, she by far has the strongest voice out of Advent 6:02 They’re dogs, but yup that’s them 7:19 They guys have their own songs too, we just haven’t really recommended any. To remedy this, my rec today will be Dead World, by Gavis Bettel, Machina x Flayon and Banzoin Hakka. 7:38 Not everyone necessarily has a specialty when they start out in Hololive, but most eventually find theirs after a little while, and sometimes it’s just something like being a comfy gaming streamer. Definitely wouldn’t mind watching streams more often, might be a bit more busy myself this week since the streams are in the morning due to being in Japan, but I’ll try to be there when I can.

If you only knew just how emotionally invested I was into this Gen cause of the Fuwamoco Twins alone. I'll try go explain. I was casually aware of them pre Hololive Adorable & hardworking but not much luck. I had s short interaction with them on Reddit. Later they graduated. Felt sad for them but you know how it is from casual perspective. Then I saw hololive Advent teaser. I made a joke That I think I will cry if the 1st Twins of Hololive turn out to be those same twins. & then I heard them. To me Mococo has a very distinct voice so. . . Watching their debut full of excitement & joy did in fact make me cry 😅 Im so Happy for them 😭😭😭 I've became a Raffian from day one but also Im subscribed to all off Advent cause the gen is a riot & their music is FIRE❤️‍🔥 Nerissa put out SO MANY banger covers. Its insanity. Right out the gate she was putting out a cover once a week for a fair bit 🤯

Consist of Elizabeth (Leader), Roara (God Eyes), Gigi (Tracker), and Cecilia (Automaton) -- All Hololive talents have been trained to Dance, sing, and speak Nihonggo once they pass the audition.

Man, it's been a year since they're debuting and they'll get their 3D model pretty soon. Getting yourself accepted in Hololive means management recognize your talent and ability to grow subs. And this after you're getting over thousands of people who want to apply, since Hololive (or COVER as whole) generally is the biggest VTuber company in the world and they have pretty much good reputation in the community. Note that talent doesn't always mean you're good at singing. You can either be good at drawing, or even crazy good at games. But, it needs to be able to attract people.

Generally speaking to get into Hololive aside from being extremely lucky you need to have some form of content creation back ground and a talent that ideally would work in the streaming/content creation space. This applies to all the guys as well. I would recommend listening to "Unlucky" by Gavis Bettel or "Raven's Paradigm" by Banzoin Hakka. There are plenty of other good music and stuff from the buys as well but these are some of my personal favorites.

The guys have their own units too and many are just as cracked.

About the boys: To focus on Holostars EN - The Lore of Holostars EN is basically a Sword Art Online/Ready Player One/.hack setup where the members themselves are virtual avatars of real people, running around in a Full-Dive VRMMO called "Elysium", while the real world of Earth goes to crap so everyone just jacks into the 'net and chills all day instead of dealing with reality. It's why all their models are themed after RPG Classes, because they live in an RPG! Rebellion is such a fun song, little fact, Nerissa helped out the vocal lines for the other members with her long experience in choir. For the talents/skills the members have, there are quite a few of them that started out struggling with singing, but with vocal training and practice they improve a lot over time. The mixing and engineering in a song can do some heavy lifting as well, also, the composition itself. The composers and producers know how to use the members' vocals in a song and make it sound good. And it's the same for the boys as well of course. Let me recommend a group song by Holostars, WE ARE THE HOLOSTARS, I think it shows their abilities really well and is super catchy.

The male branch is HoloStars and theres a Lot of them both EN and JP, Both HoloLive and HoloStars have full freedom for who they interact with both inside and outside of the company as well as freedom for age rating / strong language etc. As long as it dosnt reflect bad on the company and within reason. A lot of the Japanese girls for example learned.. a lot.. of words playing GTA5 in english audio. BUT! Please feel free to check out their songs and specific clips, the boys dont get as much love except from people looking for them specifically!

Hololive has been doing a lot with their more talented vocalists recently, but even the members who don't have as much experience have been given a ton of room to grow. I'd highly suggest checking out the Hoshimachi project's cover of "Unknown Mother Goose" on Suisei's channel. The project was created specifically to help members that wanted to improve their singing work together towards that goal. It features some established vocal powerhouses, like Suisei and Sora, but it also has some members who aren't as known for their singing, like Subaru, Nene and Iroha. The cover may be one of the single best vocal performances in the Hololive roster, and every one of the 10 members shine during tthe song. Definitely worth the watch. I'd also highly reccomend the cover of "Rad Dogs" on Tokino Sora's channel. Its a great introduction to all 5 branches of Holo Production, Featuring members from Hololive JP, ID and EN (the girls) and Holostars JP and EN (the boys). It was put together by Sora, who's the very first hololive member, and has a lot of significance as a unifying of the branches.

Not if they've already said it. The girls are not used to singing. Narisa did back vocals for everyone to follow. She was actually the person who gave them the note to follow. If your focus is not being a singer, Hololive doesn't ask you to make music but gives you ways to learn and grow... They also provide ways to learn other languages... Everyone who joins the company says they are learning Japanese, for example.

Calling Fuwawa and Mococo catgirls, smh... they're demon guard dogs Also, Ironmouse isn't in Hololive, she started as an indie and is now with VShojo. She's been around long before Hololive EN was a thing. Oh, and there are definitely Hololive members that aren't that proficient in singing, but everyone is expected to be at least somewhat decent at singing at some point in their career. In Hololive EN there's Ame, Fauna and Shiori who are not that talented, especially Ame didn't really know how to sing when she started, but she did her best learning and got pretty decent at it. Nowhere near some other talents, but still. And she definitely has a lot of other qualities that make her enjoyable.
