This is very important when in a storm especially with high winds; if your stables aren't a solid structure like a moveable stable block or if they aren't as sturdy as big brick stables that they could easily get damaged and seriously injure your horses or ponies. The best thing is to turn them out remember they are flight animals so they run when they are scared, it's safer so that if a branch falls or something they can get out the way without being trapped in a stable and have a branch possibly land on the roof or the roof blown off. completely agree but some peoples horses have an instinct of running away (such as out of their field or into a ditch) which can create more drama or damage but completely agree with you!

this is actually very true!My only concern would be them getting too cold from wind/rain I think the way forward would be to let them out but also have their stable doors open

A tree came down in our field at home, destroying the fence. we've been without power Since 18th February. We kept our horses in and they're fine aside from one of them getting an upset stomach from the stress. We've no idea when power will be restored so we're just holding out hope for now. Glad you're ok and safe Esme and the animals xx

The same thing happened in Ireland…. There was a really loud storm earlier today at the barns and very loud which meant there are horses spooking everywhere. In 1/2 of the lesson ( I have the most spookiest pony in the arena) and he galloped around the whole arena till I fell off 😃😍

Congratulations! I’m glad you got the job. The only thing is that it’s supporting racing, which isn’t the greatest Equestrian sport as many horses and riders get hurt and or die from it.

@@dead_accounttt I find a lot of sports have high fatality rates in fairness (car racing, motocross, skiing/ snowboarding, to name a few). I don’t support hurdle/ jump racing because that is definitely a part of the sport than can get you or your horse seriously injured if the slightest thing is off. I think “if you can beat them, join them” comes to mind meaning hopefully I can bring a safer, gentler approach to racing than some other people use :)

The wind here is absolutely outstanding…..the wind was peeking in through my bedroom window…….. I hope the horses and donkeys are alright I hope willow didn’t get blown over from the wind that would of been bad with her arthritis! 😊✨ Xx stay safe everyone in the U.K.

I remember that happening and this was 10 months before meeting Woody.EXE; then the storm appears out of nowhere in December and i had a feeling it was his power and i didn’t expect it to be that intensely powerful

the storm was so bad it tore my front garden fence down, somehow one panel of it stayed up since it is attached to a post. the fallen fence is still on the floor as of now. i hope everyone is doing well anyway :D you inspired me to ask for Horse riding lessons because i think it looks so fun and its been a dream of mine since i was a child :)

we've had very high wind with heavy rain at the same time, and yesterday it was snowing heavily as well! my neighbors roof tiles came off and loads of people fences came down. another neighbour's window smashed. stay safe everyone :)

In the five storms that have hit since November last year Dudley and Eunice did the least damage in Scotland. We just got a lot of snow. The three before we lost power for three-five days…. And it levelled an entire forest near me. It was mental! Someone clocked where my horses are just now 110mph! Glad you and your horses are safe after all that!

Our yard is on quite a high hill and my horses stable tipped on a angle! Luckily my pony was super chill and was not harmed. Hope everyone and their ponios are okay through the storm ❤️

I also live in Britain, an the wind was really heavy in my lesson, as a beginner it was quite difficult to ride. Although it’s all good because I am going to learn to canter next lesson!!

Oh my!!! Hopefully you and the equines (chickens) are safe and warm! Thankfully Duke is now comfortable in his stall I couldn’t imagine how that must have been if Duke had learned it later! You take such great care of your animals and you make sure that they are comfortable. Praying that you and the equines are going to be safe, and all the others who are affected.
