Foley artists use objects to create sounds based on a character’s movements and interactions in movies and TV shows. Sometimes, they will find themselves making sounds for animals. Marko Costanzo is a veteran Foley artist for c5 Sound, Inc. He has who worked on movies like “Ice Age,” “Life of Pi,” and “True Grit.” Costanzo explained how complicated it was to make the sounds of a dragonfly flapping its wings in “Men in Black,” and how he captured the footsteps of a dog at different ages in “Marley & Me.” Then, we showed him an animal clip he has never seen before and had him come up with the proper sounds on the spot.

I can imagine a future where this becomes a reality to some degree. We already have softwares capable of mimicking a person's voice and even ones that allow those voices to sing. They may not be perfect but similar or more advance methods could be used for games (and other mediums) to generate sound on the fly.

It's kinda sad that how much love we show to actors while these artists are doing lot of brilliant works. Stunt doubles, risking their lives. When considering action movies, most of the scenes are fighting/stunt scenes and stunt doubles are doing it, while the character hero/heroine taking rest and getting paid more and more. Also if you consider the superhero movies there are lot of script writing, story writing, Character design, environment design and many, but do we know who did all the works? No. We know who's the actor of the movie, but we don't know who wrote the script and who designed all these designs/animations, etc... We're praising, recognising and giving so much love for every single actor/actress like Rock, Vin D, Robert D Jr, Chris Evans, Scarlett J and many... but we're not praising or recognising these kinda brilliant artists. Rick stunts, this man, and many talented artists are becoming unknown to people.

@@maneatingloveseat Nobody is going to question a sound in middle of a movie, really. I think anyone would be equally as likely to be fooled in such case. But I bet I could tell the difference if I was specifically asked to. I own a cat, and that lion part sounded so wrong. if you listen closely to the lion claw sounds, you can hear a nail bend and make a horrible screech. a cat's nails don't bend and make a screeching sound. And they make the sound of the material actually getting punctured with like a needle. And there is no sound when a cat opens it's mouth, there's a sound only when the mouth closes. And tbh furries if anyone get linked tons of homevideos of exotic animals, we know what the fox says and it's not ringading or hati hati ho, much to my dissapointment...

The sounds for the lion cub also weren't really what you would really hear. It would be much more quiet. The sounds also fill the whole room, while by making them and just presenting them to a microphone, this isn't really captured as well. But the way it is done really lets you sink deeper into the action.
