Hi Frankie, It would be amazing if you could do a guide video for people who are preparing to get an Axolotl and even a step by step for cycling. You seem to know all the tricks for a quicker and healthy way to it and I'm sure all people looking to get a new aquatic friend would greatly appreciate it :) Take care

Just came across your videos today, have spent a few hours watching a few , shocking but at same time good, as means you're not boring 😅 We bought our daughter an Axolotl, sadly last week she jumped out of her tank, it does have a lid, but on 1 of the corners has a hole, I assume its like a feeding hole. I took her back to the shop where we bought her to make sure she was okaay. They said she looked fine and tested her water and everything was good appart from the amonia but they said it was very very low but were just letting me know. They also advised salt baths for at least a week for 10mins at a time, which we have been doing and also they advised on some fungus treatment as she (might be a boy but for now her name is Lady😊) has a white tail and also had a little lump under her chin, which is now a bit sore looking. Her guills look fine and with colour but she isn't eating and sometimes her tail looks curld. I assume those things are because she hurt herself when she jumped out !? Would love your advice as youu seem to know your stuff about these little guys. Many Thanks 😊

That was probably the best video I’ve watched, explaining the water cycle and what I have to do to fix mine! Ok, so I’m on 3.5 weeks of my water cycle and my axolotl is in a tub. Is it possible for me to speed up the process by taking out one of the sponges from my Turtle’s internal filter and putting it in my axolotl’s internal filter?? Both filters have 3 sponges each.

Great video! I thought my tank was “cycled” after 2 weeks because I was so confused about all the mixed information on google. So I got my axolotl and put her in. Then the ammonia started spiking. So now I’m here doing 100% water changes in a huge tub every day while her tank cycles, and have been for the past month. CYCLE YOUR TANK BEFORE ADDING THE AXOLOTL. In all it’s been a great learning process though, and I feel like I really bonded with my axolotl with these daily water changes lol

Alayna Riley I started my cycling/bin process on March 16, and yesterday (exactly 2 months later) I was able to finally put her in the tank! It can take a while and you can’t rush it, but it will happen. I started it off by putting one of her carnivore pellets in there to kick off the cycle, and whenever I changed her bin water I did a partial water change (just to get the detritus off the floor) and used her bin water as the replacement water! After about a month my ammonia spiked to 4 ppm, then that dropped and my nitrites spiked to 4-5 ppm, and finally they both dropped. The process is extra long if you don’t have a substrate. I also added in stability most days. Not sure if that does much, but I liked to believe it helped establish the bacteria. I wish you all the best in this process!

I've done a 10% water change everyday and am doing daily tests and the nitrite has been getting lower and lower but I can't seem to get it to 0. Any suggestions? Or is it just a matter of patience? Once the nitrite converts to nitrate does that mean the tank has successfully cycled? Keep strong. Dont forget that despite the evil in this world, God is full of justice, mercy and love. Justice said we broke His perfect law - causing the world's previous perfection to be destroyed - and therefore we deserve Hell (like a punishment in any legal system but this is eternal as His perfect law is eternal too). Don't think you fit in that category? Ever done one of these?: lying, stealing - regardless of how small the object EVER, hating others - which is murder in God's perfect law, lusting (plus God sees our entire thought life). Justice says "the soul that sins shall die". BUT, mercy said "I dont want to give them what they deserve. I don't want them to be cut off from Me. I love them despite all they have done/will do against Me. I want to give My children another chance. I want them to come home and live in My love again". And love said "Jesus, God's Son, came down as a Man, our representative, suffering every temptation, pain and struggle we have ever faced, yet without sin. He took all our sins (past/present/ even future) to the cross and then crucified EVERY ONE on our behalf. Justice was paid on the cross so that we can be free from Hell's punishment, experience Gods mercy of forgiveness of sin and live in His love. If we turn from the sins we have committed and repent (turn away from our sin and pursue the opposite direction of love through Christ) He will, overtime, recreate us back into that previously perfect image through The Holy Spirit which Jesus sends to all who accept Him as their personal Lord and Savior of their life. He is in Heaven right now preparing a place for us so that He can take His faithful, believing children home with Him when He returns. He will ressurrect us from death when He returns, giving mercy to those who accept His love, instruction and teachings in their life, and give justice to those who refuse it. He doesn't want ANY of us to go to Hell and die for continuing in evil and rejecting His way to life, thats why He died FOR us. He wants us to be His and begin to follow His life of love and service through Him (not ourselves as it's impossible without depending on His power and instruction). So long as we keep our hearts near to Christ through His strength, strive to obey His will of perfect love revealed in the Bible, and ask Him to help us in the midst of (very certain) pitfalls and struggles, we will, in time, win the victory over sin, pain and DEATH through Christ. Even if you are willing to be made willing, or struggling or doubtful, simply be honest and tell Him that. He is not intimidated by ANY sin or struggle you are facing. ANY. He hears and will answer. If we pray for Him to come in, regardless of the condition, then He will. NOTE: You are NEVER too sinful or messed up that God cannot turn your life around through Jesus. EVER. If you have any questions let me know X

Hi! I have an API freshwater master test kit, and I added Dr. Tim’s Ammonium Chloride to my tank to boost its cycle, and I have been testing for everything, my PH is great, but it’s been two months and I have tested weekly for ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates, but each week I have had the same readings, zero! I have also occasionally added the “quick start” to my tank, to try to help it cycle, but it still reads as nothing. I think my testing kit may be broken, because I literally added straight ammonia to my tank, the test read as zero, and I know I used the kit right. I’m confused, send help! I really want to get my axolotl, and everything is safe and ready for it except for the most important part, the tank isn’t cycled. I’m questioning rather I just drain my tank water and start the cycle all over and hope it works. Should I?

Hi. Real good video explaining well what cycling is and why it’s necessary sadly u made one HUGE mistake. U have advised that Api Quick is a Ammonia source and works great which sadly isn’t the case. This product is a bacteria in bottle that may or may not speed up the process. Liquid ammonia is called Dr Timms Ammonium. Also as truth as it is that seeding (using media from established filter u mentioned shortly after) speeds up cycling greatly it won’t replace ammonia and can’t be used as cycling method all on its own (as many people sadly understood) with seeding ammonia still have to be added.

Plants that I would like to see with axolotls because they want colder waters being a mountian water creature naturally is the java moss and riccia fluitans because they are cold hard to kill from being stepped on and can grow on different object that may be placed inside the tank

Hi, Frankie! Great channel and very informative videos. I'm currently in the beginning of cycling my tank. Would it be bad or harmful to add my sand substrate in these early phases of cycling? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hey man, love your content! I've got two axolotls in a 35 gallon tank. You've been a great help in my beginning stages of axolotl care. I was just curious, where are you from? I'm not sure how to place your accent, if anybody asked I would just say "UK" lol.

Can you put 3 axolotls in a 40 gallon because I've read and the Petco people told me that you start with a 20 gallon, then add 10 for each extra axolotl? I just want a second opinion, and I'm thinking of getting a 60 gallon because I've also read they each need 20 gallons. 🙏✨ thank you!

I got my Axie yesterday and the petshop did not tell me about cycling my tank at all.. so I've panicked all night that she's going to die 🙈 can you please help me. I've read so much that I've just fell into a pit and I'm still none the wiser! Thank you 😊
