Y'all need to understand this record sounded like NO OTHER in 1996. When I first used to hear this we were like 'what the heck is this track with the weird scratchy sample in it'. This was the track that confirmed Thomas was a genius.

True. Back in the Days, Nobody from my DJs Friends understood this Track while I could not get enough of this Track. EmptyDanceFloor back in the 90s! But still one of a Kind.

don't want to blow this comment away, but Flat Beat by Mr. Oizo sound SO SIMILAR to this (not the same but very similar) I could mix Spinal Scratch and flat beat and it would be so cool. Flat beat was released 1999

Saw him Dj at One of Sneak’s birthday parties at Industry. It was a surprise so they did it on a Thursday. I know a thing or two about thursdays. We walked out of the ground floor into the cold brutal daylight just as the busy bees were starting to ride the elevators to the offices upstairs. Not sure which group thought the other more insane. Fantastic night.

You can clearly feel that Spinal Scratch's structure is very close to Bob Sinclar's Gym Tonic remixed by Bangalter, which became a lot more popular than Spinal Scratch itself even if it was released 2 years later.
