Though I understand the sentiment, I don't think we have to go that far. It's possible to keep some technology, but use it cautiously, respectfully, only when necessary. To know and respect its limits, paying careful attention to its consequences. So more than abandoning technology, I think we need to change our worldview and mindset. From that of arrogant greed and growth (the more you eat, the more you want) and power (over others), to that of humble consideration and respect (towards others). We can't go back, but we can go forward in a better way.

Technology cannot be completely rid of, what's more likely is a low tech situation unraveling across the planet as civilization collapses, we definitely need to bring back indigenous ways of living though. Capitalism will still try to dominate the planet though as it becomes a hell scape

The root of greed is selfishness. Individualistic or nationalistic egoism. Careless, mindless, insensitive concern for one's own pleasure only, at the expense of others. That's a dangerous side of the human psyche, and it has to be recognized, confronted and kept in check. For that, you need wisdom, which comes from experience. Hopefully we will learn before it's too late.
