Hey Thomas! Save something for someone else to play. You have it all covered in technique, accuracy, meter, ideas, conception etc. What a blessing to have rolled into one. Not only that, with all this talent, when I met you at the 2014 Anaheim NAMM Show along with your drummer friend Makksym Deomin, I discovered your a gracious and humble human being.

Thomas Lang is a phenomenal drummer. But I like the more groove parts of his solo's like he does at 0:30 - 0:38 and 1:53 - 2:30...and the fills between. Playing drums is according me all about the groove/swing. A solo can be nice as long it doesn't influence the music to much. A drummer is a accompaniment inside a band. thomas understands that very well.

@SeptimusDrumz he is coming out with a new signature stick this year. He will have 2 signature sticks, his white sticks weve all seen were designed for traditional grip, his new sticks (the one in the video) are designed for matched grip. Thomas has said he made his other stick specifically for traditional grip, and wanted a new one for matched. Hence the creation of this stick.

Is he playing a new type of stick? I remember him saying he wants to change his stick some time ago when he had the carpal tunnel problems, but then he seemed to still play his old signature stick... which is a really nicely balanced, good feeling stick.

I really didn’t care for his style when I first listened to him years ago, even though his technique was and is amazing. I really enjoy him now, though. He can literally do anything. Amazing drummer.

Thomas is the only Metal drummer (Which I'm not saying that is all he's limited to) that doesnt overuse the double bass he uses it when he needs it and it sounds fucking sick.

thomas has calmed down in recent years I've noticed....older videos showcase MUCH greater technical prowess but he grooves so much more now...it's like he has nothing left to prove so he has dropped all pretense and is just going for it

It's really annoying when people judge a drummer by looking at just one single video, and like, they just assume that they know everything about that person. Freakin research before you criticize what you don't know.

He has a couple of chinas with jingles and then one of his chinas he has bent up and it has the air holes in it and sounds like it has something sitting on it, but his meinl cymbal profile does not have a clear picture.

he is a very technical drummer.i see his fills are all different,with an unexpected twist to them.your right,why doesn't he just play with one or two bands.guess cause he can.I enjoyed playing drums for almost 30 years,on and off.sometimes I get to jam,but nowhere near these guys,but,my double bass isn't bad.
