My favorite people to listen to. George gammon of course, thomas sowelll, milton friedman, yaron brook, douglas kruger. The fundamental idea that they all present is freedom. Freedom creates prosperity, happiness, growth, etc. The empirical evidence of this is overwhelming.

If minimum wage would have been tied to inflation 30yrs ago + unions in most jobs + vastly less welfare and lowest taxes this would be fixed. This is the Mayor Jake Method. Encouraged softer capitalism so to speak. Understand though..human labor is a dying utility so UBI is inevitable. It's scary but capitalism eats its livable labor to abolition, creating Socialism/ Communism

The working class are so penalized for their efforts that I 100% agree it incentives a person to try less and take the government handouts. You work hard, deal with work stress, pay state tax, federal tax, social security, taxed again when you spend the money, hope you make it to retirement and when you get there and hope your 401k is still of value. It’s a big rat race. Why should a person try?

The problem with this video is that one of the principal recommendations is fixing poor education. Government has followed this recommendation since this interview, and poured enormous capital into improved education. These efforts have FAILED. So the video is outdated and pointless. Yes, it is true welfare does not work. But better education ALSO has not worked.

@@nolongerhave-couth4771 Educationists, over the last 150 years, have attempted every conceivable method of education. They keep inventing new ones too. Every one of these has FAILED to achieve exactly what Sowell has asked for. We now spend 3 times what we did per student than 40 years ago. The phrase "we need better education" is an absurdity. One might as well say "all our problems would be solved by the invention of a Free Energy Machine that runs on air". Better education is PROVABLY impossible: if it were possible than at least one method would have shown results over the last 150 years.

Sowell (and Friedman) advocated for a “free market” approach to the education system as opposed to the big-government mess we have today.

@@AbbeyRoad69147 I totally agree. The only education system I have seen that works is private schools and home schooling. The govt refuses to allow a blanket voucher program to support those options.

Peter Schiff ask Why do you need a PERMIT to be a florist? That is our problem as well. The Government wants you to have a PERMIT/LICENSE to get married. The Free market does a better job at Licensing its tradesmen.

Last Thing. What is happening in America is that we have become a Nationwide HOA. That explains why California is in the state that it is in. Californians have been slowly cooked. All those HOAs have slowly cooked the mindset of California. IMO.
