Thomas the Tank Engine has come to life! The beloved Railway Series character from Thomas and Friends and Shining time station is here in Southern California for the annual “Day out with Thomas” at the Southern California Railway Museum in Perris, California! Meet Thomas, Percy, and Sir Topham Hatt himself at this all-thomas-all-day festival going on amidst historic Railroad and Streetcar equipment! Take a ride aboard Thomas & Percy’s trains, run model railroads, and ride the streetcars for free all day! Not to mention the petting zoo, music, and other fun activities for the whole family! I brought MY family out, and even though he may have somewhat outgrown his toddler Thomas stage, NO one can resist riding on the full size train “pulled by” Thomas the Useful Engine himself! Thomas is my childhood, watched that show often on PBS Kids. Made me fascinated with trains. I find it odd to see a NJ Transit car in California at 0:13. I sometimes take NJ Transit

Having volunteered at my local railway's DOWT runs, from car-hosting to actually being Thomas' "Driver" I can't help but remember how fun it was as an adult to help run the thing.

....15 years I have helped out with Thomas at the Medina Railroad Museum Event in NY. Even rode in the cab, which is not as great as one would think. Glad you all had a great time.

That museum is a lot of fun to go to, one of my favorite memories of there was when I volunteered in the photo line with Day out with Thomas. There's something so Magical about OERM.

That brought back special memories. We took our grandson to see Thomas and ride on the train when he was 4. That was in NC. He loved every minute of it. Our grandson is now 18 lol. We bought all of the different train cars. He had quite a collection. You did awesome remembering all of the words to the song!

I LOVE that you pointed out how Thomas is a not very useful engine on these rides. Same thing I always did when I took my son to ride the train with Thomas. Of course I didn't tell him at the time.

I used to go to these things all around California 13 years ago! I miss being a kid! I even saw Thomas being transported when he was sitting on the back of a flatbed in Laughlin, NV. Thanks for this video, made me relive my childhood :)

I help and volunteer on Thomas at the Llangollen Railway in Wales. It’s a stress on volunteers but it makes good money for the Railway. If you really want to get the traditional spirit of Thomas the UK is the best place, as most of the places in Sodor and stories are based on real things. As the Rev W Audrey went to these places and heard about the stories in the UK.

You just brought back memories of my early childhood! Ever since I was a little kid, Thomas was one my favorites and he still is even though I’m 22. I noticed how much the train itself has been updated! Back when I used to go, the mouth never used to move or talk! I used to go to the Day out with Thomas events every year! I think the fact that Percy’s included nowadays at the event is so cool!

I loved volunteering at the Thomas the Tank Engine event. I put temporary tattoos on toddlers, which you think would be awful with squirmy kids. I would ask them, "have you seen Thomas? He's extra happy today because he's doing his favorite job, giving children rides on his train" and the kids would light up.

We went to the PA Railroad Station in Lancaster recently and Thomas was there too! This one is a real working locomotive and actually pull the cars! :D Of coarse, we got to ride on a passenger car, pulled by a real Victorian steam train! ;) That was a first for us! YAY!

Greetings from Oregon...wow..that is really cool. I was born in Hollywood and grew up in Hawthorne and when I became a truck driver for the L.A./Orange/Ventura counties I never knew about this place. Took my sons when they were younger to do the Thomas the train ride in Strasburg PA. It was neat, kids loved it but not worth the money really!! But a good experience

It'd be cool to see them make a real E-2 tank engine again, since many were scrapped, none were basically left.Thomas was based on an E-2 tank engine. It'd be cool to see one made specifically to be a real, Thomas The Tank Engine.

Hey Justin. He is a tip. Thomas is a real engine that does use real coal. He can actually pull cars by himself. Sometimes railroads use their diesels because they would have to haul a lot of coal to day out with Thomas events. This Thomas was built by Strasburg Railroad in Strasburg PA and refurbished to look like the TV version.

I was a big fan of Thomas when I was a kid. I even had the PC game for Windows 98. Still one of these days i'm going to one of those events, perhaps with my kids. plus I prefer the models over the CG show.

They would have been better off saving more of the class 2120 tanks, those are much more reminiscence of the LB&SC E2 0-6-0Ts than the 2-6-4T in use. Then again, I shouldn't be one to complain, the fully functional Thomas in America has outside pistons and cow catchers, not exactly an perfect match ether.

Most railroad museums host A Day Out With Thomas! It's a great money maker for them! But at the Strasburg Railroad near Lancaster, Pa. has built a real working Thomas! This was built from a American tank type locomotive! They may have built the Thomas and Percy you road behind as well!

Thomas The Tank Engine and friend is actually creepy to think about because they have human-like face on a train ( at Least Disney Cars have makes eyes and mouth on a cars since this is just like someone ripped someone’s face off,straight it up and then put it on a train)
