In today's video we're doing like a version 2.0 of a taming man bun flyaways. I have done this previously but this flyaway method is WAY different. A lot of you with man buns will probably relate to having pesky flyaways as well because just by a rule of thumb, having a man bun means at one point or another flyaway pieces and little stragglers will become uncontrollable due to the wind, and just going out in general.
Here are the links to all products used:
Aunt Jackie's Flaxseed Gel: amzn.to/31IevNF
Davroe Hair Spray: amzn.to/2kutM4l
Toothbrush: amzn.to/351SvQ0
They tend to fuzz up and they muck your hairdo and they out right suck, I’m not a fan of them. My previous video on how to tame man bun flyaways was posted nearly a year ago now, it was a very big hit for your guys and that method was based on my own that I came up with myself.
But recently I've been scrounging around on the internet looking for new ideas and I came across this method of taming flyaways with a toothbrush. How cool is that right?
So, apparently all you have to do is put your product onto the toothbrush and lightly comb it through your hair, I guess. Now, the video I saw was done with hairspray and my experience with hairspray, I'm not really that happy with how hairspray makes my hair look, it does make it look very stiff.
So, on one side of my table I have some hairspray, and on the other we have Aunt Jackie's flaxseed gel. I've never really tried this before and I wanted to see if I could make it work. And if it works then you guys can benefit from it as well. But yeah, that's essentially what we're doing.
So, flaxseed gel, it's like gel but it doesn't make your hair look wet, it doesn't dry or stiff and it's really good for slicking. So that's why I thought we would try it out but then on the other hand we have hairspray from Davroe.
Davroe are really great, they send me products all the time. (thanks Andrew). And we're gonna test out this hairspray along with the toothbrushes. I'm not really an expert in doing this with a toothbrush so this is the first time for me but if it works, good. I encourage you to go and get another toothbrush and try this yourself. The way I saw it, you just spray the product onto the brush and then you comb it into your hair and it should work fine.
To see the results and which method I like better, you’ll need to watch the video but for the most part I hope you find this really helpful!
Thank you so much for coming to watch and I’ll see you next week for another video!
Yours in good hair,
Thomas

I use regular solid castile soap... you just hold it in your hands, under the water, until it makes foam, and apply the foam to your wet hair, when it dries it becomes hard as a rock, but light and you can remove it easily with water, you should try and do a review of the soap method ;-)

My secret for my flyaways is to use liquid heat protectant. A lot of it when used on dry hair gets a decent hold. It’s hard to explain without being able to feel and touch the end result. But it’s almost like using a gel. But it’s totally manageable. Once you need to take your hair down, or just at the end of the day, you shake your hair a bit, and it breaks the hold. You can barely it did anything. And you don’t get the grip you get from hairspray. You can actually still brush your hair. Again, hard to explain the results without trying it first hand. Unless you’re going out into some crazy weather, this method works great.

Fucking bringing a comment back from the dead but I've always noticed if I missed a spot after using my heat protectant on my hair it would have a bit of a firmer feel that I could just comb out and never thought about using it to tame fly aways. Literally just tried it though and it works fucking fantastically. I also tried sea salt spray on some of the hair and that works surprisingly well too.

From my experience the dryer the hair the more flyaways you’ll get. So I usually stay away from hairspray. Some random tricks I’ve done is use pomades Or after I put on lotion I’ll wipe some excess on my hair (weird but works)

Hi again let me demonstrate this from my experience, flyaways at the top of the head can be fixed with some oil (better be Argan oil) meanwhile for those on sides put some water and apply a tiny amount of hairspray on em it can last for the whole day and u won't need to waste a toothbrush

So I've been growing my hair out from an undercut and the top is about 8-9 inches and the sides are about 3-5 inches. Do you think I should trim the top or leave my hair as it is?
@thomasinaction
@thomasinaction 4 жыл бұрын
Leave it as is unless you are using a lot of heat tools. If you aren't doing muh to the hair it should be in good condition so the trim time can be drawn out a bit longer :)

Is hairspray bad for your hair and are flyaways a sign of baldness
@piney_studios
@piney_studios 3 жыл бұрын
Flyaways are not a sign of baldness. When new hairs grow, they are often flyaways because they haven’t grown to the length of your other hairs yet and they often are so light they short of float around your head and you need to use products to tame them and make them stay down. Also hairspray isn’t bad for your hair as long as you wash it off, and don’t leave it on for long amounts of time.
