The Type II A, I use to make main loops is the same material used on (most) 3Ring risers. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/b9iliL2SudTDZIE.html You would be good with 250lb line in the perfect world, (soft openings, etc) but apart from them cutting the attachment tapes enthusiastically, you will not get too many jumps out of you LineSet. I am attracter to the 700lb Vectran because of the relatively low pack volume, if you worry about the aerodynamic drag, retract your landing gear, to compensate (your legs have a relatively large surface area). After 700 to 800 flights the 700lb line is no longer actualy good for working at 700lb but still hanging in there. Abrasion damage will get them in the end, don't take them that far. There is no Best Before Date or Jump number, so many variables, I've see some LineSets only go less than half expected life, due to poor packing and asymmetric deployment positions. The Ty3 3/4"attachment tapes can handle most loads you may put on them in general use, I look forward to see THE BEAST at AREA 47 RIGGING run some demonstrations in the future with attachment tapes. My destructive test experiment are all made comparing one against the other, see who wins, No beautiful LoadCell to record the forces like used on The Beast, so sorry I have no numbers for you on that part (for now) On my main I'd prefer the tapes separated, before my head did, pack like this, kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mNCqZ62m3NzcooU.html and it won't be an issue for you, unless you hit something or someone in flight, point loading in a collision will tend to take an attachment tape passed its happy place, do your best to avoid this. The best is in the bathtub, (Rig completely disassembled) But for just a spot cleaning in one or two wee areas, you will need, (patience and elbow grease) Two cups(0.5 liters) of warm water, (one is for cleaning off brush, after lifting dirt from fabric) some very diluted Fairy dish soup in an atomiser spray bottle, Microfiber cloths, towels (paper and cotton) A 25 or 30mm paint brush, with bristles cut down to 10mm (similar to a toothbrush length) A shoe brush First when dry, use a scrub brush (shoe brush) to get the bigger parts off. Place the towels around the area, dip the short bristled brush in water, in a rotation pattern gently pass over the area, rinse and repeat, dab area with MicroFiber, if necessary a wee squirt of the (very dilute) Fairy, more small circular rotations with warm water in the brush,(repeat) dab and wipe with towel. allow to dry, a fan will help speed up drying. I hope this helps.

I have searched for this topic on many forums but the difference between that and your advice is, I trust your opinion very much when it comes to equipment. It's clear that your heart is in this for all the right reasons and I get the same release when teaching skateboarding. Sorry for the lack of Icons, so far, Not so much traffic going through my workshop at the moment, so using what I have to hand, the only Icon in my storeroom was last jumped at "The Burning Man" and frankly I'm in no hurry to get all that Nevada dust on my work area. Icon loop attachment point is well evolved (thanks to PdeFr engineers), they have significantly reduced the snag-ability of that zone. However, as with all rigs, You still need to pack properly. Yes, the newest triangular (The Parachutes De France influence) is my favourite, so far. But you still need to Pack Properly ! Who is safer ? the newest 2020 Volvo compared to my old banger 1998 Seat, Obviously the New Volvo is a superior vehicle ! But if we drive off a mountain top, side by side, well the result will be quite similar. Know your gear and operate it appropriately for the environment you're in. The way I have done this is copying a technique from Parachutes de France. Fitting a false floor or spacer to the pack tray, Basically, a few sheets of camping mattress of the appropriate size placed within a Cordura pillowcase type arrangement. Carefully hand stitched to the main tray in several places(corners and midpoints) Parachute be France used to use Press-Studs to secure the spacer, on their equipment, intended for Clubs Student training, making them more versatile with larger range of canopy choices.
