Dude don’t be stupid. This scene just show you that it was Loki pretended to be Odin the whole time. So that’s mean this scene was played by Tom Hiddleston, not Anthony Hopkins.

Especially after he turned into a snake, tricked him and stabbed him in the stomach. I can never get enough of that story. Such a simple yet amusing story made so much more funnier by Chris's delivery and the other's reactions

Why do you think they barely tried to stop him, they probably started getting wise to it being Loki when they saw Odin acting afraid of Thor.

Well they tried. It's part of the job package..

TBF they are stronger than most “human” creatures in the realms. And going by the films Asgardian protocol seems to be “Treat powerful asgardians like you do normal ones.” When Loki turned traitor in the 1st movie Heimdall straight up attacked him. Later in the move all the soldiers just squared up with hella even tho she just came from a portal that Loki and Thor entered….without Loki or Thor.

You still have humans pointing guns at Hulk, so same thing really.

Like in Deathly Hallows, Helena Bonham-Carter watched Emma Watson act out her part to get a feel for her mannerisms before acting it out in her own right, so we got Helena Bonham-Carter pretending to be Emma Watson pretending to be Hermione Granger pretending to be Bellatrix Lestrange.

He already knew when he saw that the other 9 realms were in chaos, odin would never allow that

Surtur told him Odin is not in Asgard.

Especially with how unprepared he was. No Asgardian armor, no Gungnir (Odin's spear), no Scepter or Tesseract to help him fight Thor like he used to. I also think that at this point Loki doesn't want to fight his family unless really unnecessary. His grudge towards them slowly faded away over the years.

I mean, his actions by the end of Thor Ragnarok show he’s not really interested in power, ie control/ruling, anymore (certainly not in terms of the dealing with the responsibilities that come with it as we saw), but rather just enjoying the perks of it (eg merely basking in the “royal life” watching plays, and not carrying out any duties to maintain said power & order). And also of course, again, he knows that once he’s got no tricks or resources to fall back on, he cant match Thor in straight-up combat

My guy if he hadn't found out he was a frost giant, he would have made a FANTASTIC King WAYYYYYY better than either Odin or Thor Or if he'd found out when he was still a child

A shame too imo. There was a lot of opportunity for character growth for this loki in hua series.

He didn't balance anything. This movie opens with Thor acting like a complete buffoon, talking to skeletons out of boredom and stuff. A complete betrayal of his character from previous movies. Killing off The Warriors Three, forgetting Sif exists, and making Loki, once a despicable villain, into a silly sidekick, were the same kind of awful decisions he did in that other awful movie of his. What about the ending where Asgard explodes and five seconds later the insufferable self-insert of Mr. ''I'll ruin your mythos'' makes a joke out of it? They're virtually the same horrendous cacophony of poorly written plot and terrible humor. If anything, these rare moments of the so-called seriousness (which speaks volumes of how awful Waititi is if characters not being buffoons for two seconds is considered seriousness in his movie) are the exact same problems and contradictions that are in Thor Dumb & Dumber, since, just like here, we see Thor act like a dimwit for most of the movie, but then suddenly he comes across someone as dimwitted as himself and he tries to be the straight man in the siutation (like how in Dumb & Dumber he was acting like a clown for the entire movie, but then when Zeus appears and does the same, he suddenly finds it annoying). So he didn't drop the ball in Thor Dumb and Dumber. He merely reassured all your MCU fanboys about what his Thor movies were always about: dumb awful comedy, not Thor.

​@@antona.1327Yeah Ragnarok is filled with a lot of comedy, but just boiling the movie down to that ignores a lot of scenes in it. Was Odin's death supposed to be funny? Was Hela slaughtering Asgard's army? Was Thor finally unlocking his powers and slaughter Hela's army supposed to be funny? What about Skurge sacrificing himself for the people of Asgard? Or the constant vision scenes Thor has of Odin?

I wish he still retain is cheeky demanour. I mean its still there at the end of the season but its diluted, probably because he's old and he no longer did the evil smirk he often did. Love his arc but i missed his immature self.
