Yes!!!!! Was waiting for this video!! I had the exact same thing happen with the shade finder mechanism. I cant remember which foundation I put in, maybe the matte Fenty foundation that came back with shade 15 which was like, “whoa, no”. Then I got shade 12 and the lowest I got was shade 10. I actually purchased shade 7 but then I talked to and sent photos to her staff on her IG DMs and they suggested that I might want to try shade 10 if 7 doesn’t work out. I’m actually moving next week so I had the foundation sent to my new address and it’s killing me that it’s just sitting there and I can’t try it yet! I am so excited that you love it and that it’s worked for you in all of the different ways you’ve tried it, including as a concealer!!! I wasn’t able to get sample cards either but I agree that if they are back in stock, it would be helpful to get them and I also highly recommend to anyone who is interested in the foundation and hasn’t watched Lisa’s KZfaq video about it, to watch that. It’s unlike any reveal/launch video I’ve ever seen and it’s really quite interesting. Anyway, I’ll shut up now. Thanks for this video, Shelbey!!! 💕💕💕

I only discovered Lisa this past summer. What a find! I first purchased her highlighter, lipstick and lip gloss. Fantastic! I knew I would love Lisa’s foundation. I went with shade 12 which is light medium with rosy tones. Lovely, just lovely! With your video, I will try as a concealer.

Yay!! I've been waiting for your review because we are the same shade in a lot of foundations but her shade finder left me puzzled a couple of times. I've picked shade 7 and got confirmation with my sample card and I'm excited to get it now given your review and my mini wear test. Excellent review Shelby! I completely agree with everything you said. I wavered between #6 and #7 , but ended up with 6, which was shocking bc I have never been matched to golden undertones. I probably could have gotten away with #7, because I feel like some shades are flexible. The foundation finder was a total fail, and not accurate at all. This foundation is unlike any other, truly outstanding! Thank you for sharing your thoughts! 💖

Absolutely spot on with my experience. Shade finder match ranged from 9-15. I started with shade 10 which was pretty close but ordered shade 7 to mix the two. I think in the dead of winter I’ll be a straight #7. Also hated the sponge method just didn’t work for me. Would highly recommend getting a sample card or two to find the right shade. Agree about the bottle too. It’s beautiful but I don’t love not being able the stand it vertically. Still, a great foundation and wonderful job by Lisa!

This looks truly gorgeous on you. Thank you for such an in-depth review. I'm shade 10 and love it. I'm thinking of getting shade 7 since I'm getting paler by the day with winter setting in. I also like that the pumps are like a 1/2 pump of other foundations. I don't waste it like I do with other foundations trying to get a small bit out. I have mature really dry skin so I do use Embryolisse as a primer and I get zero cracking, zero dry patches showing or breaking down. I've never had such a perfect foundation for me.

I got free sample cards when I purchased her lipsticks. My perfect shade is #7 also. It completely blends into the skin and feels very light. I really love this foundation.

Thanks for your review of this product. I purchased sample cards and I've tried the very lightest colour in the range on one day only so far and I am on the fence. It seemed to sit in my 55 year old marionette lines which is not great. BUT I am definitely going to try the other colours and use different methods of application because I think Lisa Eldridge rocks. As do you Shelby :-). I have been watching your channel for a while now and think you do an awesome job of giving useful information for all ages and skin types. Thanks for your work and for being you.

YES!!! Why don't people ever put their shades in reviews!!! Most reviews are completely pointless. Saying "I love it" or "I'm obsessed" is NOT a review!!! The Influenster "reviews" are the WORST.

Expensive but worth it. I used the shade finder tool, and I was mapped to two light-medium shades: #12 and #14. This correlated to my current La Mer shade in Linen. They are perfect. I use 14 for all over and 12 for concealer. Lisa recommends using fingers to apply, and I tried that, but prefer applying with a brush. It lasts all day. Highly recommend.

I’m shade 7 too, it is the perfect match, actually never had a shade match like this before. Amazing

I love this foundation. I’m a neutral fair girl, maybe 1.5 shades lighter than you and I’m shade 5. I almost bought shade 1, but it would have been too light. What an impeccable match! This formula is so wonderful - and I think her attention to undertones and giving EVERYONE a fair shake at finding the perfect shade match is what takes this foundation to the upper echelon of makeup launches. Bigger brands should take note. Lisa is so fastidious, and it shows in this flexible and well-tested formula. I’m such a picky foundation wearer and this one is impeccable. Thanks, Shelbey.

I purchased 4 sample cards for myself and best friend. I thought I’d be on the lightest spectrum, but am finding as I wear it I am going higher in number and so far, 5 has been the closest match. The most challenging part is that they all seem to seamlessly blend into my skin , and I’m having a hard time finding the perfect match because they all seem to blend so naturally. I’ll keep testing, and will eventually find my perfect match. I normally don’t wear foundation, but this formula will be the first foundation I can wear that doesn’t break me out, and looks like my skin . I’m grateful to makeup artist like you and Lisa that are real and honest! Have you thought about your own makeup line? I’ve learned so much from you and appreciate your wisdom and honesty.

What I loved the most about this foundation is that it actually looked better in an hour or two after I first applied it. It also doesn't look like makeup...its really does look like skin!

I have started using this recently and it is DIVINE. I am a EL Doublewear Porcelain and a LE no 5. It goes on beautifully with fingers and lasts for ages. I have dry skin and am 57. It takes years off me and I am delighted with the skin like look while it also covers up rosacea.

That's awesome that you're shade #7 because that turned out to be MY exact shade. It just completely vanishes into my skin, somehow even on my neck (which looks a bit lighter than my face). Now I know we're foundation twinsies! It's funny that I landed on shade 7 by process of elimination, because I originally ordered the light/medium card and turned out be none of those (they were close but still a little too dark or off in undertone). On the site I saw the next lightest shade up that was neutral was 7, so I just took a gamble on the full bottle and boy did it work out perfectly. It's rare for me to find foundations that are legitimately neutral and not just orange-peach. I've seen that it's gotten some mixed reception here, but frankly even if it doesn't look the best on me on its own, I'll be happy to mix it with some moisturizer or glowy primer just to have this perfect tone.

I noticed the same thing about reviewers not mentioning their shade! I’m shade 7, too-and was shocked since I’m usually the lightest or next to lightest-but it’s perfect in every way 💕

I love this foundation, too. When I plugged my info into the foundation finder it gave me too dark of a suggestion, but I found the Jones Road Beauty did the same thing…no luck with Sephora’s version of that either. The sample cards were extremely helpful and such a great idea.

I had the same experience with the shade finder. I am light/medium. I input Dior backstage 2n and it came back and said shade 12. I took my chances and bought it and it’s a perfect match. But I also was sure it was going to be to dark. Your hair looks so shiny today. Looks great.

I am in love with this foundation. It pains me to take it off at night because it still looks great. Have just been using my fingers to apply over my spf and leave it be. But do get the sample because the shade matching is one of the things that makes it so special.

I’m waiting for more sample cards! I’m thinking shade 5,6, or 7. I also got interesting results with the shade finder.

I was lucky to be able to order 3 of the foundation sample packs and the shade 6 (light with golden) is my perfect match. I did try the shade finder and used CT Airbrush flawless foundation 4W and it came back with shade 6 too. I love this foundation, works so well on my oily skin. Definitely a favourite.

Very informative video. While watching it I've been wondering the whole time what the differences would be between this foundation and the Estee Lauder sheer, funny that you mentioned it and the end.

I am soooo glad to hear that I am not the only one who was left puzzled with the shade finder. I have lots of foundations (too many) and when I put in my favourite ones, the ones I tend to use most often, I got resulting shade recommendations ranging from 5 to 16... I went on and swatched them next to each other, to see if there really is that much of a difference between them and it didn't seem to be the case for me (also, otherwise I wouldn't wear them, obviously). I was also surprised by Lisa's shade being 11, because usually she is usually around my shade or even a bit lighter, so that I need to go a tad darker than her, and 11 is quite dark for me. I can get away with it, but it's not spot on. So, I am a bit puzzled... (I ended up getting 3 shades in the end, despite having had the luxury of trying out the sample cards, I got 6, 8 and 11. 6 and 8 look identical on me, when I wear them each on half of my face, so in the end it looks like I am between 6/8 and 11. The shades in between them are not the right undertone for me).

Not to mention all the variety of offerings for olive undertones; so hard to find in other brands. I would also advise to get MORE than one one sample card.

Shade 7 here too. 9 was also good for me and would be better for summer as I know my skin will never go as dark as shade 10. Agree that the match finder is terrible. I was matched to shade 19!

I agree with your comments on the shade finder. I got her sample card and I was shade 3, but her shade finder matched me to shade 6. FYI, the foundation finder doesn't seem to exist anymore, so I guess they got a lot of returns or complaints and they decided to remove it from the website. If your corresponding sample card is sold out and you can't go to the pop-up, just go by the pictures of the models, it's way more reliable than the finder, anyway.

I love this foundation, I have mild rosacea and some acne scars, and this foundation is so gentle with my skin. However, I'm looking for something more long lasting and with more coverage for special events... Would you recommend something like Bare Pro foundation? Hi Shelbey. Can i please ask what brush you applied the foundation with in your demo?

With LE shade selection, I based mine off NARS foundation and Bare Essentials, and both gave me number 6. Shade 6 is the PERFECT shade match for me. It's the most undetectable, seamless shade for my skin. So it does work. :) I love it! It's perfect for days my skin is being annoying. I don't use powder with it and it sets down and stays perfect for hours.

It gave me back really dark shades too. And I have a medium skin tone . So I ordered light medium and medium which the finder suggested it was too dark . I wear dior like 032 and 302 . Armani 5.25

Thank you for the suggestion to apply with hands!! I just applied that way while watching and it is gorgeous!! I’d been using a beauty blender and I loved that too, but fingers is much more smooth and blurred and really does take half the product!

What moisturizer do you use under the foundation?

I’ll have to try the foundation again in some different ways. The couple times I tried it it clung to my dry patches and peach fuzz pretty bad.

I bought several sample cards and tried twice, it looked nice but on my dry skin felt powdery, I am going to her popup shop in London next month and try to find out what I’m doing wrong

I did not think her shades were as light-colored/ extremely pale as she said. I'm very fair and rosy but not extremely pale and I got the light card with the 4 lightest shades, and I am shade #2. You look great in shade #7.

What is your typical shade in MAC foundations?

I'm hearing raves about it...however...I need a 9plus hr wear (ok to apply setting powder). So I wonder about it. I wear bare minerals performance wear liquid and just got bobbi brown long wear weightless which after 1 wear I'm happy so far. More tests to come. I'm excited to hear more about this one. I'm VERY intrigued and would love to hear more from people.

I like to thin my foundations with a little water for a no foundation look, but I did not think this one worked with water. Similar to your experience with sponge. Otherwise, it is a wonderful product.

Love this review, can you please do your recommended thick moisturizers. I have dry skin and have struggled to find a good moisturizer for under makeup, without it piling.

I seemed to match to do many colours that I got thoroughly confused by it all.. I always thought I was a neutral undertone, but the 7 made me look ashy, in the end I got 11! Which said it was neutral with light golden tones, it’s too yellow!! I don’t understand the peach tones either, I didn’t think I was a peach undertone yet the peach shades looked okay too!! I felt it dry on my skin whatever moisturiser I used, I’m used to using tinted moisturisers and light foundations etc so this formula was very different, so I’m really not sure about it at all!!

I was very (and happily) surprised to be Shade 4 when I’m usually so pale I can never find a match 😂 I usually mix white Mac Face and Body with the lightest shade to get the right colour.

Wow this is another shade I have in common with you. 7 is also my best match. Another one is Armani silk in 3.8/4 but I do find it tiny bit yellow.

I’m in the UK and I can’t see to find the shade finder. The only shade finder is where you find the closest pic to your own skin tone. Has it been removed. I’m confused as to where people are finding it.

my experience with the mask is totally different, I live in a humid climate and it just melts onto the mask, I find tinted moisturizers hold up better against masks than the foundation. but overall finish is lovely

Shelby - How does the coverage compare to MAC Face & Body? Thanks to your suggestions, the Face & Body has been my top choice for everyday - BUT, if I could have just a skeench more coverage, it’d be great! What is your thought on comparing the two?

See I too av trued get sample card and all sold out ....I tried the shade finder as I inputted my Laura mercier flawless lumiere foundation in creme n it said shade 9 would b ok although slightly more pink toned ...I am light but not too light with neutral undertones and am thinking I could b a 7 too but really not sure ? 😕 I'm so dying to get this foundation! Love this! I'm waiting for another sample card restock, but I love this foundation - it lays well, is super easy to work with, everything went beautifully on top, doesn't draw attention to texture on my over 50 skin. Looks like skin, feels like nothing. Editing -- agree 100 about the shade finder. I did snag sample card 5-8. Her shades are somehow amazingly forgiving. I could make shades 5-7 work, but my face will still be off my neck. I now know my shade is either 3 or 5, none of which popped up in the finder. In its defense, few foundation undertones and depth are great at either end of the spectrum, so I wear light foundations that even but provide little coverage to compensate. That's my vibe, anyway.

Omg! So sad she does not ship to Sweden. But this shade finder, where is it?? I have been browsing around the site for a while and only find the range of shade, but not the comparison with shades of other brands that you mentioned.

I also did the foundation finder and it was WAY too dark. I based it off of the Fenty Pro Matte foundation and it was 2 or 3 shades too dark.

I would definitely need sample cards, there's a rosy undertone in shade 2 and then the next one isn't until shade 12. Like you I feel like 12 would be too dark and I'm pretty sure 2 is too light. So I guess I'm playing with undertones.... would you recommend peach or neutral for someone in my situation?

I entered a shade from another brand and when it arrived I thought it might be a little dark, but it was a perfect match! It was expensive but I am with you on the way it looks and the way it wears. Because it is expensive and I am retired it isn’t going to be an everyday foundation, but when I am going somewhere it is definitely what I am going to wear. Thanks for this in depth review! This is SOOOO MATTE on me and I am oily AF. I am shade 5. I still really like it, but I need a full pump of Auric Morganite to make this work on me.

Shelbey, yeah the shade finder is way, way, wayyyy off on Lisa Eldridge's site. BareMinerals in the shade Fair matched me to shade 1 but It Cosmetics CC Cream in fair matched me to shade 9... I'm actually about 2 shades lighter that you with cool undertones. So, I'm thoroughly confused! 😳
