Actually no, my husband finished second and he knew Lionel was going to be there. Every year Lionel comes and he is actually a friend. So, no big surprise. He knows he is going to be second but he still loves trying to bridge the gap a bit ;) My husband actually said he was second at the end of the race but first human, lol.

Ahhh I remember the good old days of coming 2nd to Lionel in a local 5km race. It doesn’t matter that there was a 6 minute gap. 2nd is 2nd lol

Good analysis on the early part of the swim... I went out in a 1:02 'in an 800 and it burned me hard. Went out in 1:04 high in the 1500 the next day and my 800 split was 0.2 faster and I was able to maintain that more or less for another 700m

@mattvo2 Yeah, don't wanna be disrespectful or anything like that but I am stoked right now because I don't know him a lot and the first thing which came into my mind is that he has a pretty addictive mindset to training, which isn't bad at all. Qualifying for Kona shouldn't be too hard at IMMT. Cody Beals is already KQed, so 2nd will be enough, and no offence to the other pros racing IMMT, none of them are in the same league as Cody Beals and you.

Can anyone help me out: So he does need to win in Mont Tremblant to qualify for Kona? Is that correct? That´s quite a tall task, if so.
@ckwong035 жыл бұрын
Gaius Velleius that’s correct. No pressure Lionel! 😬
@yarielsuarez25245 жыл бұрын
Not exactly, he needs to beat everyone that doesn't have a spot. In practical terms, he could get 2nd after Cody Beal and still qualify since Cody already have a slot for Kona. And that's what he probably will try to do, no point trying to race Beal for the win (unless he si very close at the end).
@ckwong035 жыл бұрын
Yariel Suarez thank you. I forgot Cody got his spot at Chattanooga last year.
@yarielsuarez25245 жыл бұрын
@@ckwong03 No problem. I think it's kind of a big deal for Lionel. Not having to beat Cody, that seems to be very strong rn, is huge. But Lionel is Lionel, if he has a chance, he will go for it.
@theodoreabbott64865 жыл бұрын
Hey huge fan, but did you really run 3:10 per k or did you mean 4:10 per k ?
@ajlib5 жыл бұрын
Take a look at the results: results.raceroster.com/results/wyevxauc7kefhvng and see finisher nr 14. She finished the 6km in 2:42 per km. Surely that is a mistake because that is faster than world record pace on the 5k :P
