Starting a whole new lifestyle and crochet business, including a YT channel at 60 here darlin'. You are a joy to watch. You already know that haters are their own problem, not yours, so please pay them no mind. Most of the crochet channels I follow are all older people and soooo much more knowledgeable than the fun dynamic young ones (who are great in their own way). Enjoy the journey. There are no limits and no rules to where being creatively engaged will take you. Live your passion. LOVE, your snuggle bunny. Power to the pooches!

I started my channel last year at 62! I plan on retiring this year, so I will have more time for videos, my Etsy shop, designing and playing with yarn!

Continued learning is one of the most important ways to keep our brain engaged and learning. This is how we work out our brain. Try something new, pushing ourselves outside of our comfort zone and putting us into the growth space. Growth and comfort do not exist in the same space unfortunately. I don't' spend a lot of time on youtube but your Will It Ami series is what brought me to this channel (via a crochet reddit you commented your channel and i follow) Your content is enjoyable and relatable to me (a mid 30's lady finding her way into new hobbies). I am so glad to hear you recognize that negative comments are a reflection of the speaker and not the receiver. This is so true!

Theres definitely a slower ceochet community out there. Im a part of it! I follow a lot of channels that are 30+ year old crocheters just sharing their makes.

I recently came across your channel and have been watching all your videos while I crochet. I’m honestly excited to learn we’re the same age. I watch a variety I different crocheters but it’s nice to watch someone in my age range. I’m also a very introverted person who’d rather be home crocheting with my dog. It was lovely to spend time with you. While you were making a goat, I was working on a brachiosaurus. I admire you for taking the leap and putting yourself out there on social media. You are making some interesting, and calming, content. The two videos that you mentioned that KZfaq didn't know what to do with I didn't watch, only because I knew nothing about those characters (I am 57 to your 37). I have really been enjoying your Can It Ami series, though!

Can I say how much I love this!?! There’s so many things that resonated with me! So I will keep it short and say yeas learning YT is hard and a whole new skill so don’t be hard on yourself! I only get mean comments very rarely and when I do, they are usually super weird and don’t really make sense so it’s usually funny. I was also that mom that never fit in at mom’s group. But I can tell you are doing a wonderful job here on YT and will definitely grow your channel! I hope you stick with it and be true to your own voice because you’ve “got it”. It just takes time. And for the record, I watched all those same videos and was even in a YT growth class for a while. The videos I made then are my worst preforming ones on my channel!!!

As a 40 year old trying to venture into the social media world, feeling like an old lady 😂 I completely relate! I see the 20 something’s killing it and I find my self regretting not diving into it sooner. But we can always start new things and there’s no shame at any age! I feel I relate to you in a lot of ways! ❤

I’m 9 mins into this while starting this comment and I could have made this exact video word for word! (Minus the goat lol) I’m also sensitive, self conscious and intimidated by all these younger social media influencers and I’ll be 36 this year! I’m going through menopause right now so I feel older lol 2 years ago when I was pregnant I made a TikTok and went viral and it made me way more self conscious and I did get a LOT of hate comments, like literally thousands. After my baby was born I didn’t want to be on camera anymore so I stopped. And you know what? I didn’t miss those hundreds of thousands of strangers that used to watch me at all and I didn’t have to spend my free time deleting negative comments. I started my channel here because I like watching people who aren’t pumping out 35 mini octos every evening lol I like watching people be creative and artistic and I love the slower pace. I would much rather have a community, like you mentioned, than a thousand people who just scroll on like zombies. And you’re right, it’s SO much effort to record and edit, I hope the comments you do get make it worth it. I think you’re very unique and creative and I’m excited to watch your channel grow and see what this year brings into your life. I’m also sitting on my couch with my golden but he is not sitting all cute and dainty like yours lol he is sprayed on his back with his legs splayed like a chicken 😂
