Thousands of activists descend on capital for pro-Palestine march

Thousands of pro-Palestinian protesters marched in central London calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
The march, organised by the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, set off from Parliament Square shortly before 1pm and passed through Whitehall before ending at Hyde Park.
The PSC is the 13th national protest since the first was staged on October 9.

Where were these people when there were airstrikes in Yemen, Bashar Assad was committing atrocities against his own populace, what about the suppression of freedom in Iran, the displacement of Rohingya Muslims from Myanmar who are effectively stateless? This is not forgetting the persecution of the Uyghurs in China and the Kurds in Turkey, where were these people, they were nowhere. October 7th was the worst attack on the Jewish population since the Holocaust, Israel made the decision to attack Hamas to prevent a genocidal group from doing the atrocity again but instead of supporting a democratic state under attack from a genocidal group, these protestors are supporting Hamas? The first casualty in war is innocence and unfortunately, a great number of people are putting a lot of weight on the numbers that they are getting from the Hamas-run health department, the numbers being high are for the advantage of Hamas and the numbers being provided by Hamas are likely inflated. The numbers don't separate out the fighters for Hamas and actual civilians, either Hamas considers every Palestinian to be a combatant and therefore not civilian at which point every person in Gaza is because of Hamas a legitimate military target or as most people including statisticians have stated that at least 15,000 are Hamas fighters. It is still a high number but in urban fighting, the general rule for every soldier is killed, and nine civilians die as a consequence, according to reports Israel has managed to reduce this to 1:, due to going beyond what is required under international law such as leafleting from the air, contacting anyone they can find with a mobile to tell others to leave the area, warn areas that they are going to bomb among other measures. However, in their respective conflicts, the rest of the world such as the US, China, the UK, France and Russia have never even come close to the levels that Israel has tried to keep the deaths of civilians down. Also, this entire situation is not genocide, Israel is not trying to kill the Palestinians quite the opposite, if they did have their intention unfortunately the numbers would be the hundreds of thousands if not millions due to the difference in firepower. Furthermore, the same countries that are calling for restraint from Israel such as The UK and The US, exactly how many people died in their conflicts in Afghanistan, Iraq or Libya? Also, in what world would any rational and reasonable country take advice on Human Rights from Iran, China or Russia, three countries whose records are not exactly spotless. In essence, those protesting in support of the Palestinians need to take a step back, this is not about Israel persecuting the Palestinians, this is about Hamas thinking that by attacking Israel they could get the region to wipe out the only democracy and Jewish state in the area, which is genocide and has been tried before and failed in 1948, 1967 and 1973. If you want to protest against anyone, protest against Hamas and their associated groups for continuing this pointless struggle against Israel and not striving for peace, if these groups didn't keep firing rockets into Israel daily, the Palestinians would have been able to leave Gaza as they wished. Furthermore, if the same groups didn't incite the populace to stab Israelis or if UNWRA actually had proper oversight over what their teachers were teaching then again the Palestinians would not be in the same position because every sane country under those circumstances would regretfully restrict movement of people to prevent loss of life. Also, those calling Israel the occupier, the occupier of what, if you mean Gaza, Israel has not been in Gaza since it left in 2005, I appreciate that people will argue they still control the air, land and sea entry points but the Palestinians aspiration is for their own state, which in essence Israel has partially given by doing this and what have they done since 2005, fired thousands of rockets into their neighbour indiscriminately. If Scotland did that to England we would be screaming that there should be a response and that people travelling between the nations is restricted. What does not help the Palestinian cause either is the conflating of Israel and those of a Jewish background, just because someone is Jewish does not automatically mean they are Zionist, an Israeli or that they support the state of Israel. They may believe one or they may believe none of these and having these continual protests on the day those of the Jewish faith call the Sabbath and seemingly near areas which are near Jewish places of worship is inflammatory and victimizes those who are simply going by their business. To those who still protest, consider what precisely are you looking to achieve, if you are looking to try and stop this conflict then call for the release of the hostages and for Hamas to surrender and renounce their campaign against Israel. If you are one of those who support the slogan "from the river to the sea Palestine will be free", then I would strongly suggest that you look at yourselves in a mirror as the statement is antisemitic and calls for the wiping out of a considerable number of the world's Jewry and that I am afraid is genocide.

Well out of Israel's hair, because you know their agenda's to get rid of Israel, which is the perfect justification for Israel wanting to get rid of them. Cohabitation has failed, because spite is inherent to their nature.

Why aren't they then? They've been holding their Pro-HAMAS rallies for 6 months. There have been no marches in support of the Uighars. In fact the Stop the War Coalition describes this as a Conspiracy Theory. No marches to support the genocide in Syria, in fact the Stop the War Coalition describes the Russian bombing of Pro-democracy enclaves in Syria as a Conspiracy Theory and no marches to protest against the genocide in Dhafor. These are anti Free Speech, Anti Democratic, anti-Semitic rallies in support of a genocide against Jews.

Because they weren't allowed in the tunnels built by HAMAS , take a moment to think about that. HAMAS does not believe it should be responsible for the defence of people who voted for them. Take a moment to think about that. On 7th October they attacked Israel, murdering babies, whole families, gang raping girls, killing and kidnapping. They relied on there being a reaction of the Israelis which meant the deaths of Gazan civilians (who initially danced in the streets). Take a moment to think about that.
