Some of the best, most thorough instruction I've seen on KZfaq for a sewing project. I've had to watch 10 videos before I stumbled on to yours and would only have needed this one. Plus.. your beautiful accent is an added bonus 😍. Thank you so much! I'll be subscribing 😊

Ah! Now you tell me. I've thrown away every bit of that strapping on boxes, knowing full well it would come in handy for something, but I had to draw the line somewhere, right? The cat enjoyed playing with them until tatty but.... I'll be keeping the next bit of strapping for sure. This is a great idea and thank you for such clear instructions.

Take a look in nearby dumpsters or at the post office. This stuff can easily be found if you think "resourceful". It always bothers me to throw it away but gets cumbersome to have all these goodies around from packing materials.

love this and a commenters idea to glue baste a hem before you start. I would add to iron the creases out of the fabrics beforehand so when you look at the finished product it is more beautiful and smooth.

If you turn under the top hem and glue baste while the fabric is flat, before making the bag and boxing the corners it will be less fiddly 😊

I made one and I used a a little stuffing in it and then filled it with BBs. It works real well even if I hit it with my elbow .

Very easy to follow, an some good advice added here in the comment section. I have a note too, I have found that the friction pen does show up again when the item has been out of the house and when it is cold i.e frosty weather. That is a common thing where I live, which is in Norway, when it is winter time. 😊

I have noticed this more recently, I am now careful as have had the same thing happen. I don’t know if they have changed the mix of chemicals but it seems to happen more with some colours. We can always go back to using Tailors chalk, sometimes the old ways are the best 😉

Thank you so much for taking the time to do this. It is the best and most thorough tutorial I’ve watched. I have the Clover hot ruler and I’m wondering if you use a little starch and fold down the quarter inch raw edge before sewing up the sides, it would be a little less fiddly🤷‍♀

@@fionasfabrics3388 I used the heat resistant ruler before stitching the sides for the bags. It worked out great and helped getting the tops lined up.

is the walnut shells heavy enough i use sand. just wondering

Yes it’s heavy enough and by using the ground shells it keeps your pins sharpened. You can buy the shells with different aromatics too, we used Lavender infused ones, smells gorgeous!

I really need a couple of thread catchers and tried to get through your entire video but the music made me nervous.

Like the project, but the sound of the machine, your voice and music is difficult to listen to. A good tutorial doesn’t need background music. Otherwise, great tutorial!😊
