It's pretty fitting too that the most prolific passing season in NFL history would be followed by one of the deepest QB drafts in NFL history. Luck, RGIII, Tannehill, Russ, Captain Kirk, Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles, Brock Osweiler, and even Case Keenum as an undrafted free agent.

@@thecoolbro77 lol. Well Brock was a major free agency bust once he left Denver, but he was actually a pretty decent backup at a critical time when the Broncos needed it in 2015. Brock went 5-2 in a season they'd go on to win the Super Bowl, so that's mainly why I put him there. And also because the Brocktober meme. 😂

25 years ago, 3,200 yards and 28 touchdowns was enough to put you in the MVP conversation. We're getting to the point where 4,000 yards and 35+ touchdowns is *expected* out of a lot of the league. Does anyone else remember that back in 2011, ESPN declared it the Year of the Quarterback so they started releasing a bunch of QB-related content? They aired documentaries on Tom Brady, Todd Marinovich, Tim Tebow, and more. They also finally started airing an Elite 11 series, highlighting the best high school quarterbacks in the country, featuring Jameis Winston. I'm not mentioning everything, but it somehow all seems perfectly timed for this NFL season to be so prime for quarterbacks. 2011 indeed was the Year of the Quarterback!

@@veracity5977 too bad the majority of HOF players like Jerry Rice say otherwise. It must make you mad so many HOF players, coaches and respective annylist have a different opinion than yours. When Rice said what he said it was on a small talk radio show. It wasn't even really media. It wasn't a rehearsed response or a politically correct one. Just a bunch of guys sitting around talking shit.

A part of me wonders if the lockout played a part in offenses putting up video game-type numbers (no normal offseason; no OTAs or minicamps). Outside of the Texans and 49ers, hardly anyone was playing consistent defense in 2011.

Romo was also the only one on here with a garbage oline, put up 31-10 td-int in 15 games with laurent Robinson having to be his main receiver for a large amount of the season. Because Austin had hamstring issues all year and Dez was either missing games or playing injured. Plus Romo had that punctured lung and broken ribs. Would have been interesting to see what Romos stats would have been with him and the receivers healthy.
