In this video, I discuss three (and a half) big changes the Jehovah's Witnesses leadership is about to make in relation to the religion's practices. I base this on recent changes to doctrines and procedures and I show a video montage of these changes. I predict that some of these changes are likely to be announced at the 2024 Annual Meeting.

Yes, the desperation to indoctrinate people means all common sense goes out the window. Now that the hour requirement has been dropped (except for pioneers) why would anyone in their right mind subject themselves to such humiliation?

These are truly, amazing changes that are quite likely. JW leaders are jittery and disorientated as a result of their being exposed over the internet. As a means of damage controls, no necessary changes are harder to embark on by the leaders. Great thanks Chaka for this diligent compilation.

@@TheMedibankprivate Wow! It means a lot. Firstly, it means the organisation is a mere man-made arrangement that is making things along after considering social circumstances around them. To the leaders, beard for men wasn't acceptable for the past 80 years. Just of recent, they came to their senses, and approved it. Just imagine their "this generation" teaching metamorphosing into a ridiculous "overlapping generation" teaching. Should we assume their deity Jehovah lost his senses at first, but regained it later? 💡🏛 RE 16:56 "'The door-to-door ministry has achieved it's purpose..." I can totally see this reasoning be used to lead the JWs in a new direction. The GB could say we are at a critical point... the last of the last of the last days is near. The door-to-door ministry has achieved it's purpose and millions of people have been offered the message. Then you go into a doom and gloom warning about those who reject "jehovah" and refuse to repent from sin and false religion. Show scary footage of military forces dragging people out of their homes, burned up cities, plagues of locusts and angel armies. Then insert the verse about preach the Scripture to all the ends of the earth. The GB can then introduce their new changes ... all they have to do twist the scripture another 33° degrees and voila! it will appear totally legit door to door has ended and will not have to admit any mistakes!

Yes, it's extremely odd but I'm sure their majority shareholders have told them "you have to overhaul the whole thing or you'll die out." They have to try and the hemorrhaging of members somehow.

@luna-p: for as long as I remember Watchtower has been telling their followers the time is coming when all religions will come under attack and especially Jehovah’s Witnesses. But what is actually happening is that many governments have put Watchtower under scrutiny for the harm the religion causes families by their shunning policies, refusal of military service and the prohibition of blood transfusions. Some European countries have already determined Watchtower is in violation of human rights charters and pose a concern to national security. So their policies have actually turned the spotlight on Watchtower, not the mainstream religions of the international community. I’m quite sure this is the reason for all the recent changes. Watchtower is trying to blend in, not stand out. Seems the so-called “world” has had enough of their bizarre practices!

We just had our C.O visit, and during the elders meeting he mentioned that he received directions to emphasize dor-to-dor activities because is the only way we are having some (very few) results.

It's funny how COs try to make it look like they have some special knowledge. Directions for door-to-door where issued by Rutherford in 1919, the time he kicked out everyone who objected. Of course, they'll keep pushing it until they scrap it with a simple announcement at the annual meeting or a GB update.

These heartwarming, Hallmark-esque videos are over the top! I can't handle it! Are they seriously suggesting that we should treat our neighbors as ourselves now? It's a biblical command, but it's coming a bit late, about 2000 years late. I remember those days of going door to door, and so many times, nobody was home. Some of the people who answered the door were either hostile, naked, armed, or unleashed their dogs, goats, turkeys, or geese on us. Once, a dog was set loose on our VW bus before we even got out. The dog clamped onto a tire with its teeth and shook the bus so vigorously that we were all ricocheting around inside. We even kept the tire as a souvenir! I must concede that my favorite part of field service was break time.

@@TheMedibankprivate all USA. The animals and guns were in Missouri, Bible belt, rural territory in the 1970s; later on Utah 1980s-1994 that was where we encountered body nudity. One time it was the city mayor - he answered the door sans clothes. 🤔

The old timers will be shook if they stop (or de-emphasize) the door to door work. In the 70s, I remember my parents and grandparents saying, “The first sign of apostasy is speaking against the door to door work - because apostates are too proud”, etc. I hope you are right Chaka. My PIMI Mom (and her peers) would be shaken for sure.

@@AnthonyMorrisReturns Oh yes! Here in Canada we had Professor James Penton, who left the JW and subsequently wrote some books. Smart man. In our own congregation I remember one former sister who actively tried to dissuade others. Early activists. And, of course, I remember some late night conversations “among the adults”, discussing the departure of Raymond Franz. Even then, apostates were the big bad wolf. Lloyd did an interview with James Penton.

@@SunnyDays1914 Interesting! Quite intriguingly even though my dad has been in the organisation forever he never talked about Ray Franz' defection. I only found out about it accidentally; I was listening to one of the talks that a brother called Steve Klemmeti used to put on his website and the speaker talked about thus great apostasy that had led to the disfellowshipping of a Governing Body member. This was absolutely shocking to me so I went down a rabbit hole and found out about Ray Franz. This was in the late 2000s or early 2010s.

I once tried to point out this same fact and quote to the JWs I knew way back in 1974 and was told to keep my mouth shut or face the consequences of questioning the “anointed”! I left in the summer of that year after attending the ‘74 summer assembly where a Bethel speaker bombastically addressed the audience applauding the witnesses who were selling their homes and businesses, quitting jobs and going into full time preaching work before the end in 1975!! It was appalling to see people I knew swallowing that BS,(to their everlasting regret, as it turned out!)

Great video, interesting that you touched on the amount of meetings possibly going down to one. In certain congregations in Panama they conduct a single meeting which is about 3.5 hours long, so the members only have to venture out (catching the bus/walking) sometimes in the downpours one day. "Do not forsake the gathering of yourselves together." If you see your brother take a false step and you do not correct him it is a sin for you." so there is scriptural presidence for going back even if it means listening to apostate teachers, you are now immune from their teachings. You could help others .

The problem with shunning is they can always claim that there is no requirement on members to shun their family members which is true and not true at the same time. I think they will soften their stance by the end of this decade but they will do it through tightly gritted teeth.

LDS Mormons made changes that are on par with JW changes. For example, LDS shortened the total time for Sunday meetings from 3 hour to 2 hours. Leaders ask LDS Mormons to spend the 3rd hour at home in family time and other good uses. As an LDS Mormon, I welcome such changes; I see no reason to apologize over them. I suspect top LDS leaders see the same world indicators that JW leaders see. As your video says, leaders tend to say idealized reasons for making changes.

I think for these leaders the question is "Would you rather try to maintaining your level of control and lose more members or loosen your control a bit and at least try to keep the members you have?"

It means Hospital Liaison Committee. It's basically a group of elders specifically selected by the Jehovah's Witnesses Branch office to go to hospitals to enforce the 'No Blood' policy.

@@alans.wendelschafer6588 Absolutely! If you get a chance try and Google "The Great Disappointment". Russell basically stole his ideas from the Millerite / Adventist tradition. William Miller predicted that the end would come in 1843 and managed to convince a lot of people. Obviously the prediction didn't come true. Because so many people were disappointed it was called the Great Disappointment. Miller then said said he'd been out by a year and predicted 1844 which of course didn't come true. Miller I believe gave up but Millerites kept recalculating it until we got to Russell's time. Russell basically said Miller was right but was out by 40 years and he said Christ's "presence" began in 1874 and would end within a generation in 1914. When that prediction didn't come true Rutherford moved the start of Christ's presence to 1878 hence the 1914 prophecy. By the way, Russell tried Miller's trick of moving 1914 to 1915 when his prediction didn't come true but this is not really talked about. So, when the JW leadership claim that they predicted years in advance that Christ's presence would begin in 1914 it's really laughable and an insult to the intelligence of JWs.

Interesting ideas. After the beards and the pants and the no service counting, I too, thought they were starting a process of softening and going more mainstream. But everything that has come out since then is as hardline and culty, if not more, than ever. I think they eased the dress restrictions to get Spain off there back and the (slight) refinements to the treatment of DF'd people is to get Norway off there back. I respectfully disagree that they will make the changes you suggest. They would lose too much control. But hey, I could be wrong, I too, am "neither inspired nor infallible!"

I think if you were the Governing Body you would be thinking "Would we rather have the same amount of control but have no one to control or have less control but maintain our power and privilege?" Cause if they are taking a leaf from the pope he has far less control over individual Catholics but still has a lot of power and influence and most importantly privilege. They are eventually placed on the jw.org website about 3 months after the event but the footage is usually heavily doctored. One year they edited in two talks that didn't happen at the event. Last year they pretended the talks had been given in a completely different order from the order at the actual event.

This is also a possibility but I think they are more likely to charge people for Zoom so as to force them to go to the kingdom hall than put a whole meeting on Zoom. I think the in person factor is crucial for a high control group like this one.

They only double and triple call and run into do not calls because they are routinely calling on each home. The JWs have no good news. We are called to share The Gospel of Jesus Christ to the lost, not to share "truths" from a magazine. Now that they're baptized they are now eligible to be a victim of shunning. God has not commanded His children to complete ANY hours of service. We born-again believers share the Gospel because of our love of Jesus. He has filled us with the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ IS God (John 10:30).

Only last Saturday 15/6/24 2 women showed up at my door. Very friendly. They gave me a leaflet for a convention that would be on in July 5-7th. They wanted to let me know that I could enjoy my life forever. They suggested they would come back the following week. Yesterday the first woman came with her husband instead. After some friendly talk, referring often to the Bible he gave me an introductory Bible lessons’ pamphlet on Enjoy life forever! After they left I decided to check up on Internet. The point I’m making is that these JW in NI are still going door to door.

I realized this when they tried to make my head fixated to a man on the stage. Couldnt talk, couldnt say what I thought, couldnt move. Just had to concentrate on being brain washed. I knew this because of how they tried to force me to concentrate on a man talking from a platform. I couldnt speak, I couldnt move. Make a noise etc. I had to concentrate on what they were saying. I spent my life trying to get my parents out, and they spent their life trying to get me in. I hate the GB and know for sure they are evil.

Yeah, i think they'll get rid of the midweek meeting since its very redundant as is. The Public Talk would be 15 mins, they will have a talk that rolls a lot of the preaching teaching together as like a 10 min part and then a 45 min Watchtower study. It can wasily be passed on as there is a greater need to focus on getting our core family stronger, and the extra time will be a welcome reprieve to most Witnesses, with some citing increase crime or needing to work more, regardless that was always a concern in other countries not the US, but now that its a LITTLE more difficult, theyll lap it up. I dont think the door to door ministry will go away yet. That will probably come with the name change after the Jesus videos. Or in the middle of them.

I believe your predictions are reasonable. As i was listening i was thinking about the evolution of the ministry school over the years and how it changed even more this year. Now they are focusing not entirely on door to door or studies but starting conversations or at the very least appearing more human like to lure people into conversations. You could say this is because they have relized that door to door is not effective anymore and they are trying to focus on cart and informal. But why is the change so sudden if they dont intend to scrap the door to door method? Great video and cant wait to see when they make these changes. Also look forward to see how they justify forcing all these people for decades to do this work and then on a wim throw it away. Without scriptures once again. Its all just man made BS.

After having made not counting / not reporting time for decades they just got rid of it like it's nothing. I guess because the door-to-door ministry has been such a staple they'll try to come up with some half-baked excuse. I reckon in addition to what I said in the video they might say something along the lines of "Jehovah showed us during Covid that we don't need the door-to-door ministry as we still experienced growth".

I get the sense that the JW leadership sees the writing on the wall. They know their organization is dying, so they are trying to make continued membership easier in order to hold on to whatever members they have left. However, the rate of new converts will decline with decreased proselytizing, but apparently they consider that strategy preferable to losing a lot of members up front if they maintain or increase the field service requirements.

Question for you Chaka: Do they " teach" people to talk like that in the video clips? What's the reason behind it? I'd love to see you do a video on that and the cadence of the speakers.

That's a great question Jules! I've touched on it briefly in the video where I previewed the 2024 convention. I agree it's very manipulative. Most UK high profile JW speakers speak with a certain cadence. This is something that originated from Bethel and is very much encouraged and praised. They also force speakers to speak in a very slow and deliberate manner. I'm pretty sure they coach their actors to speak in a certain way.

I can definitely see them dropping the birthday prohibition in the next few years. I'm not sure how much of a priority it is for them at the moment given the multiple issues they have to reduce.

This is great speculation, but I think that's all it is. The D2D work has been a "Hallmark" (to quote WT wording) of JWs. Sure, it has served its purpose by now. 1. People are rarely at home when JWs call, 2.People do not trust visitors to their door as they once did, 3.More and more people live in multi-family, high security buildings and complexes where such solicitations are prohibited. In reality; the D2D 'Ministry' is a complete waste of time. But; if JWs are allowed to cease this "outward display of faith", what will they do with all the time they now have? JW & WT doctrine has always commanded: 'Be busy in Jehovah's service...if you're not working for Jehovah, you're serving yourself and Satan'. Regardless of whether its productive or not, the D2D work is a way to keep JWs busy, focused on 'The End'. If they take away organized Field Service, most JWs will just use the time for themselves and the religion will eventualy fade into oblivion. The GB knows this and I believe they will continue to beat a 'dead horse' until the bitter end.

All 3 and a half changes are the same thing and predictable after the covid hiatus but the subscription concept is revolutionary….as an ex JW Elder with 35 years service I am now embarrassed at my complicity….the GB members are plainly evil, they should all be ashamed if they haven’t read the Rutherford Coup book or watched the KZfaq channels which expose Russell’s narcissistic behaviour. The main point here is that the edifice is crumbling, without house to house preaching the only new members will be children of existing members and the youths of today are far less likely to abide by the censorship of ‘apostate literature’ or KZfaq channels - they will make their own minds up which we oldies could not do as these channels didn’t exist. The end is nigh and it’s not the Great Tribulation unless that refers to the death of the Watchtower.

I think we all feel embarrassed about our complicity... But we were only doing what we thought was right at the time. I believe the GB realise the end is nigh and their sweeping changes are desperate attempts to salvage the whole thing from total oblivion. I guess from their point of view they'd rather be ruling over the lives of 4 million people than lose all that prestige and power because of stubbornly refusing to change. Plus I don't think they want to have the legacy of being the names that drove the organisation into the ground

The Boreans searched the scriptures daily to see if what was being taught to them was so.
