As a Korean born in the 80's, I like the fact that Mangchi makes Koreanized Western dishes like this that were popular in the 80's and early 90's. I feel so nostalgic, it reminds me of my childhood! 😍😍 I don't think young Korean kids these days like this kind of food, cuz they had much more access to authentic Western food. However, one of my best memories in my childhood was making humble yet tasty three-color sandwich with my mom!

I bought so much korean ingredients couple of days ago from korean store and the clerk was so happy that i knew all the names and etc. (I'm 16). So she asked how i know everything and i told you that i have been watching and cooking your recipies for about 2 years now. She also knew who you are. Now i'm taking all of these food items with me to different country where i live. So my suitcase is so full.

Have made this wonderful sandwich several times over the last few months. As one small tweak, I added scallions to the cucumber mixture.

For the fancy ones, you can crush a few gloves of garlic and mix with olive oil. Take the excess edges and brush some of that garlic oil and bake in the oven at about 200 degrees celcius until golden brown. :)))) thank you for the recipe Maangchi!

HELLO! Thank you for the recipe. I made this today, but with meat I had on hand. The red layer I used a bit of leftover steak which I sauteed with red bell pepper, Worcestershire sauce & tablespoon catalina dressing & chop it very fine (then refrigerate while I made the other layers). The yellow layer was the same as yours with egg yolks, mayo & mustard. The third layer was like yours but I also added chop green onion & dill with the mayo. I shared the sandwich with my Mom & Dad as a snack before bedtime & they loved it too! It was pretty as well! Thank you!

Maangchi, this looks delicious! I am French Canadian and we make a very similar dish at Christmas time called Pain Sandwich Québécois - except instead of individual sandwiches, we use a whole loaf of bread sliced length-wise into 5 slices (we fill it with a ham filling, a chicken filling, an egg salad filling and a salmon filling for the 4 layers). Then the entire loaf is covered in a cream cheese and mayo topping, like icing a cake, and we decorate the outside with veggie and herb decorations. When you take a slice you get all 4 layers. 😍🇨🇦
