The Three Fund Portfolio is a common investment approach that is beginner-friendly and has a proven track record of success. With this investment approach, you get large amounts of diversification in the domestic and international stock markets + the domestic bond market while holding only 3 index funds. It's simple, quick to set up, and low-cost. In this video, I explain the key benefits of the Three Fund Portfolio plus a description of each included fund, so you can get your investments set up today.
For Charles Schwab investors, at the end of this video, I highlight some specific funds you can purchase to replicate the Three Fund Portfolio at Charles Schwab.
Remember - personal finance and investing is ultimately personal. The Three Fund Portfolio is just an example of one investment approach you can take, and just like all investing, carries risk. You should perform your own due diligence on the investments you make to identify the investment approach right for you.

No need to limit yourself to Schwab funds. The S&P ETF is SPY. probably cheaper on expense fees than the Schwab on as well.

Your videos are beyond helpful. I haven't found anyone else who gives this type of overview and insight. I've had a CS Inherited IRA for 6 years that I've done nothing with because I had ZERO idea that I needed to invest it until recently and then I had ZERO idea what to invest it in. Because of you, I do now and I only hope it isn't too late. 😕 I'm already 47 and I don't even want to think about the money I've missed out on bc it would likely make me puke. Ughhhh.
