I think some parents get overwhelmed wen they get a diagnosis and it's so amazing to see a family have so much hope and be so positive.

I believe Luke was made exactly how he was meant to be made and I’m so glad that he was given you as a mama! Your attitude and way you are with him is so beautiful! You’re educating so many people and sharing both of your wonderful lights with the world. My heart is so full watching this!

The chiropractor will get his muscles to relax all in good time. Big thing is watching for flat spots on head, and this eye muscles on the one side getting weaker. Great eye coordination! He is doing awesome.

Everyone is saying he looks like Jake, but those eyes and the faces he makes remind me SO much of Duncan! He’s such a cutie! And growing up so fast!

It just seems to me he’s going to be a little guy, with maybe some level of physical limitations, but I betcha he won’t be slower to learn or hit milestones. I bet he does really well. He’s got all his siblings to watch and learn from - look how advanced Duncan is! Those kids are like built-in 24/7 occupational therapists for Baby Luke. His environment is really going to help him thrive intellectually. And to really boost my environment theory, he’s got a stable home life. There is no crazy dysfunction happening that would take attention away from the kids. I really think the chromosomal issue is a lil hiccup to Luke’s physical growth, but I feel it in my heart that he will be on par with emotional and intellectual growth.

my nephew did the same thing with looking to the left and his head leaning when he was this little. he also had to work with specialists and therapy at home! Luke is getting so big and strong! i'm so proud of him!!!!!

It only feels like yesterday you announced you were pregnant! You have so much knowledge & experience already from the older kids, I'm sure this helps in gauging Luke's progress & problem areas. I'm really glad you quickly found some answers and have great doctors & support from the genetics community. Connecting with others who have been/going through something similar is like connecting with an old friend, they just get it without explanation. That limbo time is truly terrifying. My own experience- knowledge is power & it can also remove fear, enable you to have understanding & see/plan a way forward. Luke is gorgeous, he's a mini Chris- looking forward to seeing him grow. Hope you're doing/feeling ok too.

Precious little guy is doing so well. My nephew had the same condition with his neck at birth. It was turned one direction for quite some time, but eventually he was able to have full range of motion. It just took some time. Luke is so adorable. Thanks so much for sharing his updates with us. Jess, props to you for being aware of the startle reflex. I have Cerebral Palsy and have a strong startle relax also. I'm 24 and still dealing with it, it's hard to describe what it's like but sudden loud sounds, for example, are very jarring. As are jump scares in horror movies, doesn't matter if I see them coming. It's never presented any real issues for me, but I don't think my parents or doctor understood what would happen to me until I was old enough to put it into words. So props to you for being aware!
