Love the painted brick, so much more interesting and classy that the endless rows of boring old brick of which we have hundreds of thousands. Gorgeous especially the darker one

painting brick is a good idea when an ugly brick was used previously/there've been unsightly extensions but here it feels a shame

I thought the idea was to paint the frames and door, not the brick. What a crying shame.....

@@lorrygeewhizzbang9521 you can see other houses on their block are already painted as well. So doesn’t seem like an American thing, but something their neighborhood already has going.

Yes I agree, it will all flake off too so there will be an added element of upkeep.

Just awful. Completely ruined the character of otherwise beautiful Edwardian facades. Paint over pebbledash and breeze blocks by all means, but not over beautiful, old red brick in good condition. It will look scruffy and tacky too, once the weather has faded it and the birds have made their mess down the side of the paintwork. I suppose that means repeat paint orders for the company though!
