Justin would you be interested in seeing video on my son? He is 19 and playing college ball at Mineral Area College in Park Hills,Mo. He is 6'5" 245 and is being scouted and recruited. He hit 13 home runs in 38 games batting .409 with 50 rbi's last summer and his first fall session in college he put on a hitting show during the game and BP! But recently he has had timing issues and to be honest he looks really bad at the plate.

I was a power hitter killing the ball and then i started not getting any hits, the kids were throwing the ball faster ( baberuth ) i wish i knew those things then. hey what is something that can help me when i bat. im a lefty and im usually the clean up hitter but the only problen is that when i step and swing my back foot stays planted. so its taking some of my power away. do you have any advice ?

I would suggest you look into this idea of separation again...separation occurs from the lower body and the upper body, not walking away from your hands. Your hands are still at you back shoulder, not behind. If you look at yourself in your video you will see that your chest is pointing slightly to the back of the plate, just lagging behind the knob and your lower body (belt buckle if you had one on) is pointing somewhat towards the plate. As you begin to turn your hips, rotate them, however you want to describe that, your lower body continues to turn forward and then the upper body is yanked through...that is separation. Walking away form your hand is not good...
