Glad I found this one I started losing the fun aspect hammering my kid trying to make him the best version he can be and losing the focus on fun. It's a hard line to walk with a 7 year old who has potential but wants to be stubborn and do his own batting mechanics because "it works better for me" as he says when it's just so wrong and he misses every ball lol he can't see it doesn't work for him and he's got coaches that are just horrible. So now I took training into my own hands and losing the fun when Im constantly correcting his swing. He's all arms casting and everything else that's wrong.

I'm the best player on the team first base but I could play any position and trying to train and motivate the team but I'm not the coach and don't want to take over or impede what do you think I should do to help my teammates.

Its crazy but theres a similar thing for the golf swing. Seems like coming from the inside is universal

This guy is lost a little bit. Obviously you don’t literally swing down. It’s a feel thing for guys a mental approach to even out their bat path.

Justin, I am writing a book on coaching youth baseball, and I would like to include a link to this throwing progression in the book. May I please do that, along with a recommendation that readers subscribe to this channel?

The biggest thing isn’t so much bat speed it is and it’s not it’s more about exit velocity if you swing the bat at 60 mph but slow down it’s no good the biggest thing is not slowing down at contact which unfortunately a lot of people do they may not even know they are doing it this was one of my biggest things I would swing at about 75 mph but slow down to 68 just after contact so everything has already started to decelerate it really kills your home run and distance potential by not marking sure your finishing the swing all the way through the ball is going to slow the swing down some but mechanics and strength training can very much so minimize this problem

I’m 57. When I was in little league, fly balls were something that I struggled with. My dad just kept telling me to “get under it”. Nothing clicked until just now after watching this video. I suppose it’s too late for my little league career but at least I have a better understanding of it.

You have no idea what you are talking about. The first rule of hitting an inside fastball is keeping your front shoulder down. During the video your front shoulder is pulling up. Why are you doing videos if you have no clue how to hit an inside fastball. What are your credentials? To anyone watching this video, do not listen.

I noticed he never threw the ball once. Going through all the details is good but why not the complete throwing of a baseball and then show it in slow motion?
