😇👍 .. Ty! I knew this had to be possible! I peiced all my tiny scraps using a foundation - like a foundation crumb quilt - about 12inch by 12 inch sections - I put 2 sections together and quilted the new 12x24. Leaving about 2 inches of the backing in place- after collecting these sections for 3 & 1/2 years. I keep putting them together- I used ugly fabric I didn’t like, all the messed up stars, misshapen units- I now have a nice very very warm king sized bed quilt- I am almost done- it is a hodgepodge Of all different seasons- the back is all different ways to quilt as you go- “”practice”””-the ugliest quilt yet we all love this!! I put some play elements -fuzzy thing on the cute animals- little cloth buttons - flying kites, children playing- it’s unique!!👍👍👍I WILL keep trying and I appreciate all of your videos! Have a blessed year!!

This is a nice overview of QAYG techniques. I have found that it is helpful when sewing through so many layers to use a walking foot on my sewing machine, particularly if the top layer being sewn is batting or wadding. Thanks for your videos!

I know what you mean but she had to sew it a quarter inch away because you can't sew in the ditch in this case you would be sewing right between nothing. Right? because she opened the seams

Sewing IN the seam line is 'stitching in the ditch'; sewing just outside the seam line is 'topstitching'....but as mentioned below, when seams are pressed 'open' you cannot stitch in the seam line as you would not be sewing through fabric...just through thread! :-)

I find that it actually messes up with my cutting mat so I now use scissors

I love your fabric selection and the pattern . Is there a name for that pattern. I have watched your quilt as you go video and I am going to attempt to do one. Thanks so much for the video.

Great tutorial, Teresa. What would you recommend for stitch length and tension for QAYG please? Any adjustments? Thanks.

I am in the process of sewing the first method with my scraps, but am wondering how to sew the rows together when each backing block is sewn down.

You have to use sashing to join the blocks. I have a couple of videos on qayg with sashing
