yea as a Mavs fan Game 3 is gonna haunt me for years. Terrible Jason Kidd timeout when we were on an insane 20-0 or something run, Luka fouling out while down 3 in the clutch, replacing him with fucking THJ. Series could easily be tied rn.

It likely won't happen, but I do think this Mavs team has a better chance than Boston did last year against the Heat. I do wonder where this Mavs team has been though. This was way more exciting than a boring 3-0 lead.

The Celtics can be fast paced or slow paced, they’ve basically put their energy on reserve for these Finals. The Mavs to their credit have had to scrap and claw and they’re exhausted. Even if somehow the Mavs were to magically win game 5. There is no way it goes past 6. Dallas played extremely well yesterday but they’re running out of steam.

The Mavs were one of the highest pace teams this season, so no they don't run a very slow offense. And the longer Luka sees their defense the better he gets it picking it apart. the Celtics could have shot a good percentage and still lost this game. this is how the Mavs have looked for most of the playoffs (okay it was a bit crazy) but its not like they’re incapable of ever playing like this again. this isnt Heat Game 2 statistical anomaly performance. ask Wolves fans about G5 or Thunder fans ab G6. this is just the first time theyve played like themselves all series. Luka and Kyrie went like 1/14 or 1/16 from three and were still up nearly 50 at some points. That should be concerning. Series isn’t interesting unless the Mavs take G5. they just dug themselves a really bad hole. but this performance shows that they deserved to be here.

Boston is still in control, unless they let it get to Game 7. We'll see, if they are real champions, they put the Mavs away in Game 5 or 6. If they are fakers, they let it get to Game 7 where it's anybody's game....then it's a humiliation they will have to live with forever. But then again, they are the most decorated NBA franchise, so some humiliation is not a bad thing.

Celtics have been mostly irrelevant since Bird’s prime ended nearly 40 years ago. Celtics got 9 titles before there was more than 9 teams. 32 finals appearances to 23. Have won 11 rings since 1980 to Celtics 4. Lakers have been more competitive consistently, Celtics got carried by Russell. And trust me, the humiliation of first 0-3 choke being in the Finals by a team known to be chokers is definitely a bad thing. Celtics will never live it down. And all that to still not give a good reason as to how the Celtics would feel less pressure in a game 6. The Mavs are playing with house money, are a 5 seed with a less talented team and a younger star that no one was picking to win it all, and everyone has written them off, there is almost no pressure comparatively.

That's what I always have thought would be the scenario in the NBA playoffs, the 3-0 team loses one or more players, especially star players. Then that opens the door for the other team to do the comeback. It's just soooo much harder in the NBA to do that comeback versus the MLB or the NHL.
