Something I feel like people aren’t thinking about is that with PG being on this team, he won’t need to average 35 for us to win basketball games. That’s always been the problem for us. We’ve never had enough scoring punch from the starting lineup outside of Maxey to take the stress off of Embiid. Also Tobias Harris and his big contract have held us back from getting the depth we’ve needed to help him out. Tobias showed people exactly why we fucking hated him last playoffs. The sixers are fun and certainly look great now. They are one of the few teams that legit look ready and also have a geat roster to go with it. Assuming health is going to be okay they are going to be a tough cookie to crack and might go far this year, more than any other. At first I expected maybe Brandon Ingram to land on this team, but I guess PG13 is a slightly better fit. I didn't even know that had this much cap space to give. If any team can give the Celtics a run for their money it is this Sixers team and (again) upgraded Knicks. Both of those teams are extremely stacked.

@crooklynz718Ай бұрын
@Osumas stop it. For you to say the Knicks bench is like Donte and that's it just shows how you don't know much at all. Josh Hart obliterated the 76ers in the playoffs as a starter with his rebounding, drives, and 3 point shooting and he's now moving to the bench. Miles McBride is another great bench piece whose and elite defender and can hit the 3. For you to even mention a rookie in McCain as if he's in the same tier as a Donte, Hart, or even McBride is comical. Drummond is one dimensional, he can rebound and defend a little but that's about it. Thibs is not gonna play a 6 man rotation considering he has those 3 that I mentioned coming off the bench, plus they will add a backup C as well. The Knicks are a deep team due to their elite players whether it be rebounding, shooting the 3, or defending coming off the bench which is something the 76ers lack.

This is nothing but good for the team. In the worst case, they got rid of Tobias Harris, which wasn't bad but a thorn in the eye of sixers fans for years and if PG is injured or can't play, that wouldn't make them much worse than last year. In the best case, he, Embiid and Maxey are going to overload defenses and Embiid can coast to the playoffs and not risk injury.

Sixers absolutely had to swing for the fences this off-season and they did just that. They did the best that could be done this off-season . If their younger guys can step up and play real roles then their depth won’t be an issue and they’ll be ok in that area. Looks for names like Ricky Council and Jared McCain, if they can play roles then this team will do well. If not they’ll need to make another move. Get a 2 or a 4. Hell they could still use one more forward. And guys like Drummond, Gordon, and Martin will be absolutely huge in certain situations. And they have the most well rounded big 3 in the league.
@urbaindelva7869Ай бұрын
I gotta disagree with you on this one, Cone. I think that PG just walked into a similar situation to the one he just left, except with a better 3rd option in Maxey. They are not much closer to winning a championship, even though PG is a slight upgrade from Tobias Harris at this point in his career. Health and playoff performance will be the determining factor for the Sixers with Embiid and PG at the helm, and (recent) history has shown us that they can not be counted on for either.

Now that they finally have a good roster around him for the first time in his career, he doesn’t have to do everything so maybe he can actually stay healthy. It’d be much better for him to only average 25 points by playing low minutes or taking games off to prevent injury and they can still have a winning record without him.
