Grew up with Robotech. Being new to this, I appreciate learning about the various brands and model lineups. I like the Threezero version.

@@cesardavis8700 Thanks. Too bad about the Kid's Logic Veritech. Thanks for the update. Still sad I missed out on the Bandai DX version but hopefully I can go all in with the Threezero offerings. I also hope they make Battle Pods and I really hope we see some Hovertanks.

Finally a review in English! I've only hear good things about ThreeZero products, so I wasn't too worried. I passed on the VF-1J, because I assumed they would make a VF-1S. Hoping they'll make Super/Strike parts available soon. Probably don't need the GBP armour, since I have the Yamato 1/48 version. Hope ThreeZero make some Destroids too.

Thanks for the comment. So far, I've had an excellent experience with the Threezero VF-1J, and I can't wait for their future releases. Once you have them in hand, you can't help but feel the passion and attention to detail that Threezero put into this VF-1J! Do yourself a favor and get one while they're still available for retail price. Thanks again, and happy collecting!!

@@cesardavis8700 I have the VF-1S on preorder. I keep missing out on the Bandai versions (Hi-Metal-R or DX Chogokin), so I've wanted that particular one for ages. Shame ThreeZero only have the Robotech license, otherwise they might be able to do other Macross mecha like the VF11, YF-21, etc.

@@drewlovelyhell4892 I totally sympathize with you. Hopefully the legal resolution between Harmony Gold and Bigwest will free up the marketing and distribution of all Macross merchandise.

I love this video, thank you for posting it, you get a real sense of all of the iterations in all different scales of the VF-1 that have been released over the years! The DX is the creme de la creme but the ThreeZero is a very worthy alternative, especially if you find the aftermarket prices of the DX, and even the Yamatos/Arcadias, disagreeable and the Hi-Metals too small. Don't even bother with the KC, even though the human figures look alright.

Thanks. Great comparison vid. Looks slightly shorter than the yamato 1/60 V2 so I think it is approximately the same height as the yamato 1/60 Version 1

Thanks for the comment. You might be correct about your assessment. My version 1 Yamato can't hold a standing pose anymore. Regardless, next to the Threezero it just looks dated and basic. Yamato's version 2 was much more sophisticated in looks and engineering. Threezero's product is so much more accessible than Yamato ever was. I still remember the anxiety and fomo when a new model was announced in the Japanese toy/model magazines. Most of their releases were Asian markets only.

Thank you for the post. To answer your question, I would first consider a few factors. Mainly budget and space. If you have the luxury of that not being a consideration, then I would buy both lines. If you do have to take both factors into consideration, then definitely go with the Threezero. It's also great to be able to get in on the ground floor, as they say. Thanks again, and happy collecting!!

As someone who only got into Macross relatively recently, I have been looking for a good Valkyrie (or Veritech) figure. The only thing that is keeping me from pulling the trigger on buying the Three Zero version is if it is possible to have the robot mode without the gap fillers? I've heard mixed responses to this question.
@cesardavis8700
@cesardavis8700 Күн бұрын
Thanks for the post. The short answer is yes. You can have it in Battroid mode without the gap fillers, and it will hold just fine. The real question is why would you not use the filler? It really helps to finish the look, plus they're already included with the package. It's just another option for you, and options are a good thing in this case. Threezero put just as much attention to the accessories, as the main figure. Come to the dark side, young padawan. You'll appreciate the whole package! Thanks again, and happy collecting!!

@@cesardavis8700 Thank you for the response. I'm kind of a klutz so for a figure as pricey as this (still a great value compared to other similar figures, but still relatively expensive) I would be paranoid of losing pieces especially if they are integral to the transformation (same reason why I probably won't get the Bandai HG Macross kits). So if the gap fillers aren't necessary, for my own peace of mind, I would probably keep them in the box and only pull them out for photography or the odd stop motion. I mean, looking at the original Takatoku figure I personally don't mind the gap, and I imagine the Three Zero figure's gap would look similar if not better.
@cesardavis8700
@cesardavis8700 19 сағат бұрын
You bring up excellent points that I failed to consider. In terms of the gap, the Threezero, like the Bandai DX, has a wider side profile in the upper torso. This makes it more visually disruptive. You can look at the Bandai DX in the video and see what it looks like without the fillers in place. The Takatoku has a considerably slimmer profile, and is not as distasteful. I think we, as collectors, also tend to look at vintage figures through very nostalgic lenses, if you know what I mean. Regardless of my rambling, that option is there for your choosing with the Threezero. Hope this helps your decision. Thanks again.

Thanks for the comment. I think that would be a cool idea in theory, though I wonder how it would affect the price and accessibility. Not to mention the fact that Bandai has an established 1/48 scale that more than measures up to many collectors' expectations. Thanks again, and happy collecting!

good video, is the quality of the plastic good? Bandai and Arcadia use thin plastic, does this Threezero figure use thicker plastic? Is it made of real ABS plastic? What is its resistance?
@cesardavis8700
@cesardavis8700 3 күн бұрын
@@PavelQuijanoOno the plastic is definitely ABS. So far it's held up extremely well, and most importantly does not feel brittle when handling. I'm not sure about the comparison between Bandai/Arcadia because I feel that Bandai uses better materials than most other manufacturers. I personally haven't had any problems with the Bandai DX line, where the Yamato/Arcadia pieces have had cracking, breaking, and yellowing. If I where to rank all the manufacturers of Robotech/Macross mecha presently, Bandai and Threezero would be top two. All other manufacturers are inferior in quality and engineering, with Toynami and Kidzconcept being the worst. Hope that helps. Thanks, and happy collecting!!

@@cesardavis8700Thanks for the information, I have a few Macross figures: VF25S Osma from 2008 Bandai DX, it is made entirely of ABS plastic, it is very solid and durable, although it is old, YF-19 Arcadia 2022, thin plastic, that's why I bought the YF- 19 Bandai DX 2024, thinking it would be better, it turns out that it also has thin plastic, of both YF-19 Arcadia is more solid and heavier, it has more metal, although YF-19 Bandai DX is more modern, it has improvements, it sounds a little Brittle, although it will not break if treated with care, I will not buy YF-21 Bandai DX has even more problems. @cesardavis8700
@cesardavis8700 3 күн бұрын
@@99nessuno99 thanks for the post. Per your question, the Yamato is ever so slightly taller. If you were to display them on the same shelf, I personally feel that you could make them work together visually. The Threezero is however, more sophisticated in its surface detail and finishing. You might have to add some detail and panel lining to the Yamato/Arcadia to make them mesh well with the Threezero. Hope that helps. Thanks, and happy collecting!
