My grandmother had an ottoman like that. She used it in the bathroom for laundry and a seat. This was in the 60’s to early 70’s.

Thanks so much! 😊 I saw a few other creators do the same and then sealed the original metal with the same sealer they used on paint. “Naturally” vintage 😆

Thanks so much! That transfer is beautiful! It took me a bit to figure out how to cut it into the pieces I needed without looking obviously cut! But the finished product was well worth the extra time! :)

The little chest is amazing! Love that you thought to paint the outdated plastic upholstery. Did you have any issue with the transfer splitting on the padded lid?

Not at all! The best part about that transfer is that the design includes crackles (which is why I chose it for this piece … well besides the fact that it’s stunning!🤩). But I had no issues with ripping or cracking. I will say that when I was rubbing the transfer on I didn’t push as hard as I normally would with wood projects.

Is " big top" the same as mod podge? Can you use them interchangeably?

Hi! Good question! Big Top is a polyacrylic sealer that’s by DIY Paint. You can use mod podge as a sealer too, but I have heard that it can dry slightly cloudy. I haven’t used it enough to know for sure. Are you looking for other options to seal your projects?
