This was Dimash's last song of the Bastau concert. It helps explain in part how spent he looks. This was his first solo concert in Kazakhstan and it was in sort a welcome back home and a consecration by his compatriots for his newly acquired international fame. As we know, Dimash in his own words has said many times is a true Kazakh and proud of his roots. Performing for his people and getting their recognition was one of his aspirations. The moment is not lost on him and we see his emotions overtake him at the end of the song.

My best song of Dimash, True revel, justice done , like a the flower that grow in his voice. Time is fair you know. One of the greatest symbols of resistance to Russian rule, Magzhan Zhumabayev is considered an exponent of Kazakh literature, his most famous poem Daididau became known worldwide thanks to the performance of Dimash Kudaibergen. Although he lived between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, his writings only became public in the late 1980s. His first poems and songs were released at a young age, in a romantic style compared to Lord Byron and Pushkin. Magzhan Zhumabayev before he was executed, he wrote these verses to his beloved wife, whom the opposition forces told him that she no longer loved and that she had completely forgotten about him. Out of spite they inflicted this on him. But history and the great artists of time are responsible for restoring the truth. Big Dimash!!

My favorite Kazakh song. Thank you! If you want to get more goose bumps and tears, watch the 2019 NY concert-he spoke very little English, but you really do not need words to feel what he felt and what we all felt-tears all over the place! The Dimash USA fan club did the first Dears Choir to Daididau for his birthday in 2020. It was such an amazing experience! The Dombra is what Dimash is playing-there are several videos of him as a baby with dombra! Glad you did the Gloria Wu video as well, this was the video that stole my heart-seeing him wearing his white Kazakh outfit made him look Prince 🤴🏻like. Since then I called Dimash “my Kazakh Prince” 🥰🥰🥰. The lyrics are so meaningful and how he delivers the performance; it feels like you are there as the story unfolds. Thank you, Richard & Johnny, for this reaction! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Prepare to sing this in Budapest!! 😁😁😁

I can always tell when a performance is from the Bastau concert by looking at Dimash’s face. He lost so much weight between the Singer program in China and preparing for Bastau (which means Beginning, I think) that his mother said they had to take in his pants (trousers for you Brits out there) with safety pins so they wouldn’t fall off during the performance. Thank you so much for reacting to this, from a Florida Dear.

There is a song Dimash performed at his concert at Yerevan, Armenia that I cannot recommend highly enough. It's called "I'll die for the wind in the mountains" which he sings in Armenian, learned the day before. He likes to honour his host countries this way. He appears somewhat nervous, playing the dombra for a few moments. Then he begins. You must hear this song even if you don't react to it though it would certainly be worth your while. The song and his singing is exquisite. Love you two. Take care.

This is the story and lyrics of this song Daididau When Magzhan Zhumabayev, Kazakh philosopher, poet and professor, was accused and arrested for conspiracy, he was imprisoned for more than a year before being executed, during which time he was wrongly informed that his wife had decided to leave him. This event led him to write one of the most popular poems in his country, and on which one of the most beautiful folk songs of his culture is based. "......Daididau....." Daididau¿A quién debo divulgar mi dolor?¡Ah! Daididau¿A quién debo divulgar mi dolor? Aaaaah, Daididau¿A quién debo divulgar mi dolor? ¿A quién debo divulgar mi dolor? Daididau I lift my pen to write to you, my beloved, with a complexion as beautiful as the full moon, every time I think of you, my love, passion revives this lifeless heart Ah! Daididau, passion revives this lifeless heart. Are you determined to leave me? Now that our happy past is just a distant memory, remember the solemn vows we made to each other, to whom should I divulge my pain? Ah! DaididauTo whom should I divulge my pain? Ah! DaididauTo whom should I disclose my pain? It's been more than a year since we saw each other, and I have left part of me in you, my friend. Is it true that you have abandoned me? We seemed to promise that we would never separate. What can I say if you have broken your promise? [This alternative verse is built from less frequent translations] Daididau, with a complexion as beautiful as the full moon! Aaaaah, Daididau, to whom should I divulge my pain? Who should I disclose my pain to?

Dimash is an old soul. I went to his concert in NY and seeing his aura is something to behold. Glorious, ethereal, beautiful, brilliant white with a multitude of layered colors. When he opens his arms he takes in all the energy he feels and then gives it back ten fold. Yes, it sounds strange, but no other way to describe it.

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤️❤️❤️🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 Gracias, felicidades y saludos 🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴

Wasn't able to catch this live. But I hope you see this comment. Make sure you get to The New York Cafe in Budapest. Look up the History of it. I think the 2 of you will find it very interesting.

Hi Guys! Thank you for this great review of the GREAT DQ! Thank you for the replays too!!!!! 🙌!!!!!!! 1) I do not belong to any belief system or belief organizations of any kind, but I agree with Johnny that Dimash is a being of many many lifetimes come back to contribute to the elevation of human consciousness thru his music. I often say when I die, my first question is how do you get to be like DQ - have a life like that; not the fame, but the conscious awareness and presence level from such an early age that allows you to focus and direct all your energies toward the cultivation of your talents guided by a mind clearly FAR FAR beyond his years...since the age of 3,4,5! I don't think a person with this enormous amount of super human talent of which we can find NO other human on earth even close to his level, vocally, as a multi instrumentalist, composer - the human being he is!!; and listening to his interviews the depths of philosophical considerations and values along with his extreme dedication and single minded focus to fulfill a purpose that he KNEW clearly from an early age as shown in drawings that he made at the age of 4 depicting what his life would be in the future....this has to be a higher dimensional being. When I see young children of 3 or 4 or 5, they are normal, scattered, silly, no great direction, no great vision, no discipline....just normal, undirected children. But to be this awake, this clear, this future / present goal focused since 2 or 3 that remained unwavering and only strengthened thru his life; no drugs EVER, no drinking EVER, only 2 night clubs in his life he said, no dating, no talk of wanting to date of marry, just ALL I WANT IS TO BRING MY MUSIC TO THE WORLD and I want to focus on this 24/7. Like Johnny said, "he's my role model". I am older than DQ, but I now stop all the time and think "How would DQ handle this situation, this person, this conversation, this challenge?" How would he respond here, and I adjust myself accordingly. I want to be like him as a person. IF and before my next possible incarnation, I want to learn what is the process, what are the steps to develop my consciousness to be able to become this kind of artist, with this enormous capacity to express creatively. He must be from a higher level than the earth plane, I don't think you can learn all that he knows as a human being or as a musical artist in a single life time. Your tears were appreciated and respected!

He sings the entire song without his in-ears working. All his muscle memory saving him in that situation. Also, the end of this song is another moment where we watch a dream of Dimash’s come true - to put on a big concert in his home country, after The Singer 2017 competition.

935 Dears presentes. Saludos desde Mèxico.

This concert was Dimash’s first ever large solo scale concert in Kazakhstan on his return from his success in China and, yes, it was very emotional for him and he was holding in tears. This song has particular significance to him as it was the first Kazakh song he presented to the world on The Singer show - one of his missions is to introduce and present his country’s music to the world. Absolutely awesome performance - 100 dombra musicians leading to this one man holding us in thrall - all at the age of 22! Mind blowing and beautiful as are all of his Kazysings whic I hope you get to. Thanks guys 🙏🏻🇦🇺❤️

ONCE Dimash participated in a singing competition. In the second round he wanted to sing Daididau but the organizers of the competition wanted that he sings another song. Dimash was stubborn and replied „either I sing Daididau or I quit the competition“. He sang Daididau and over all he won the competition. I couldn’t figure out yet why especially this song is so precious and important to him.

Great reaction! I was very surprised to see Johnny cry, and I was crying too 😅 I love that song and I hope Dimash sings it in Budapest (and Istanbul). He usually sings it at his concerts, but he didn’t sing it at his last concert in Hong Kong. He kept Durdaraz in the repertoire instead. It’s a great song too, but I prefere Daididau, it’s much more emotional. I wish I could join your live reaction, but it’s 2 pm for me when the live starts and I’m still working at that time. ☹️ Greetings from a Brazilian in the UK 🇧🇷🇬🇧 We’ll meet in Budapest. See you guys there! I’m sooo excited! It’ll be my first Dimash’s concert too! I can’t wait! ❤️
