I shared the pain of seating in the ground arena. I’m small and you two guys have to bend for I said I look like a cane next to both of you. I can’t see only back, shoulder and head. So I was force to set on the floor. I could see him good. But then I decided to transfer in front of the sound monitor. There I stayed standing throughout the concert. Which happened that I stand next to dimash dad. He cried by the way. The two of us cried hysterically when it was the story of one sky.

I think the main reason for not being known in the USA. is because he remains independent and be in charge of his own choices No manager, producer director etc. He and his father are in charge."Dimashal" He's very Intellegent.

I agree but he has played USA,N.York,Barclays arena, completely booked ,if he had booked a second night would have filled it.He did the worlds best and made a show,he has been in Los angeles in music and played with a few,met David foster,so he does his thing.remember he is the top in China and that is a 3/4 times bigger than the states,he is young and will be one day be down for the greatest vocalist for many generations and well respested.I am very happy that he stays on course, shoes the genius he is!

I have seen some interviews of Dimash making it very clear that he does not want to be contractually tied down. The one show where he did participate was “Worlds Best”. He opted out of this competition because towards the end he was competing against children younger than him. He was told otherwise. Judges (namely Rue Paul) publicly insulted Dimash live on Television, in front of the whole world. I don’t blame him after that unfortunate incident! Kazakstan’s is a very cultural country, they believe in lifting children up, not competing against them.

The ‘Story of One Sky’ - an important fact which you may not know: Every 3 years the ‘Congress of the Leaders of the World and Traditional Religions’ is held in Kazakhstan. The Congress reports directly back to the United Nations’ and the final message at the end of ‘One Sky’ is a quote from the report submitted in 2019. In September 2022 Dimash was invited to perform at the ‘Seventh Congress of the Leaders of the World and Traditional Religions’ and actually premiered (singing ‘live’) “The Story of One Sky” to over 100 religious leaders at this ‘closed’ event. These leaders responded with a standing ovation and referred to ‘One Sky’ as the unofficial anthem of the event. The following day Dimash was presented to Pope Francis and was given a medal and he received a blessing from the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Whamad el-Tayeb. So, choosing both the quote at the end of the song/MV and what he chooses to do in the ‘vocalise’ section of the song then becomes, to me anyway, more poignant and powerful. In the ‘vocalise’ there is, at the very least, the Muslim call to prayer, the Jewish Shofar, the Om of Buddhism and Hinduism and the bells of the Christian church so he has woven musical references of the world’s faiths together - WOW! Plymouth UK 🇬🇧

You guys are so lucky to see him live. Everyone has ego but having ego and being egotistical is different. Dimash definitely always check himself and stays humble and true to himself. Yes , I think it’s always a question that even with his incredible skills he is not “Yet” as big as other artists, and I agree about his English , he definitely getting better but people tend to not get used of a singer that have some accent and perfect English pronunciation, his “Dinglish” as they called doesn’t really bother me , I’m always focus on the skills and his delivery. I’m actually glad that Dimash doesn’t compromise his artistry just for the sake of being in the mainstream media. I like his uniqueness , I like his approach to music I like that he is bringing different instruments and I like that he doesn’t put himself in a box. He is an absolutely musical genius and works so hard . And sometimes I actually like that still a lot of people doesn’t know about him , because want to keep him just for myself 😂😂😂

Shakira make a huge sucess and she has a thick accent on her first english album, the thingh that Dimash needs a better pronunciation he really don't need to speak like a native but if he sing in english the same way he sings in italian will be enough for english native speakers audience.

Yes, like BTS they don’t speak perfect English but they sing better in English,Dimash sings in French, Italian, Chinese and even Spanish perfectly . Kazakh language is nasally, throaty , hard with k sounds ( correct me if I’m wrong ) it makes it harder. His recent 2 English songs have so much improvement, I applaud him for working hard .

There have been French artists, Italian, Spanish, Scandinavian... who have been successful in the US. I think there's an anti-Asian (Dimash is by American standards, Asian) bias that is less apparent than in America's judgement of "European" artists. A stronger racist element. That's unfortunately, the US.

I think the reason why Dimash hasn’t caught fire in the West is due to the lack of music education and popularity of Rap in the last 20 years. So many young people haven’t developed an ear for actual music. The commercial music industry promotes the same sound over and over again, mostly artificial electronic and auto tuned. Many young people don’t even know what a saxophone or viola is, much less their difference.

This is going to sound horribly arrogant and I really don’t mean for it to, I am from the US, but I was raised with such exposure to many genres of music. The appreciation of the musical intelligence and not standard pop dribble, I was an 80’s kid, but musically most mainstream music is so much simpler than it was even in the 70’s and 80’s.

You guys are so lucky to have seen Dimash . You are the among the best reactors out there. As to the American market. Spoiler alert for those other Americans , country western is not generally known or popular in the rest of the music world. Dimash does not actually need the west to be an absolute success. There is a whole world out there, that know and appreciate his unique voice and style. Do you agree?

This is the first time I watched after the concert. I have some recordings just to immortalized the moment. But I haven’t watched it nor open it. I was emotionally drained . I’m trying to savor that moment still. Well this brings me back to that moment. I told myself if he will sing the story of one sky then it will be the culmination and it did. Almost three weeks post concert and I’m still in that mode. Dimash is just out of this world. Simply indescribable.

Thanks so much, guys! - and I'm *so* happy you had a great time!🥰 My health and finances have so far conspired to keep me from seeing Dimash live and thus fulfilling the only item and/or pledge on my bucket list - so me, jealous?! Of course n... ABSOLUTELY!!😭😭 Tomorrow will actually be my 5th year anniversary of first stumbling across Dimash singing «Opera 2» on a reaction channel much like your own, and having my whole musical world turned upside down! "Before", my playlists were all English language-only, mainly mainstream rock and pop, and with only a swirl of my teenage punk days mixed in for colour - "since" Dimash though, (not "after" - forever doesn't *have* an "after"!) I've been able to add music from the worlds of opera and folk and maqam, in languages from across the globe such as French and Japanese and the beautifully poetic Kazakh, and been introduced to the unique sounds of such instruments as the dombra and durduk and kobyz, and - oh, just so much more! And with opening my musical horizons, came culture - and with culture came people, and with people came love, hope and friendship, community, education and tolerance, thus making me a better person overall - or at least, doing my best to become one! So you see, Dimash really is the gift that just keeps on giving, and for that I adore him for the rest of my days - plus, he makes some really great music! (lol!) So thanks again so much guys, and please, keep doing what you do - you never know when you too, could literally be changing someone's life forever! Sending much love, best wishes and heartfelt thanks from this British Dear - take care, my friends :) 🥰🫶🇬🇧 (and ps: I WILL see Dimash live some day, I am DETERMINED!✊)

I love your comment! My Dimash experience has been quite the same (but 6 years +). I just read an article about how artists can be placed on a scale from least to greatest. At the top are the rare masters whose art is so profound and influential that it changes people's ways of thinking. Dimash definitely belongs to these. As you beautifully described, he not only expands our horizons but also our humanity! I wish you will see Dimash live soon (not HIS soon:)

As a mom myself, I can relate (to a limited degree- none of my kids are on international stages… yet! :D). I have had parents and teachers compliment my kids and tell me they are so polite and positive and I will side-eye my kids while accepting the compliment. What we see as fans is really Dimash, but not the intimate Dimash. Intimate Dimash is for his family and closest friends. Public Dimash is still incredible!

What a wonderful concert. I do wish you had been closer, but I am thrilled for you being there. I think my favorite songs, are the ones in Kazakh, like “Give Me Your Love”, “Unforgettable Day”. Obviously, when someone sings in their Native tongue, it is always deeply touching. Also, when the DEARS sing, it reaches Dimash’s soul as well! ☺️ I bet hearing the Kobyz live, must have been surreal! I agree, that what Dimash brings to the world, is above and beyond the “Mainstream “ STUFF that is out there. I think that the world of Dimash, and the DEAR population is much RICHER than all of that! So, as Johnny said, “ Thank you Dimash for being there to enrich our lives!”

If you missed it because you were exhausted, you must have been truly wiped out by the end. Him too! As us Dears know, Dimash doesn't hold back and gives us his all! A piece of the love. BTW my purchased seats didn't exist! (Section 6 Rows R and S) Pretty upsetting to get re-seated up in the upper section. I was disappointed (visually) but I will say, from where I sat the acoustics were very good. I went with a non-Dear friend who said "WOW" about 700 times. I'm not a virgin any more, and I'll be going again somewhere in the world. Come to d'Bay area (CA USA) Dimash! Back to your video...

Richard and Johnny! I love you two, you're the absolute best! Thank you for sharing your good fortune with us. Serious question: Did you feel in the presence of Greatness? I feel that when just watching him on KZfaq. I've never had such a feeling for anyone or anything before. You have been involved with music and artists for many years yet you, too, give the impression that he's an anomaly. There's something almost supernatural about his effect on some people. I'm one of them.

when he was in the Singer competition his pants were always too short. They provided the costumes and didn't expect him to be so tall. Just a funny thing. Lucky guys you are. I am hoping Heaven sounds like this when I get there. The ice cream in Austria is the world's best. Real cream.

So so so fun to relive the concert w you guys! I can't wait for round 2 in Prague! ❤❤❤❤ I got better tockets because I was distracted, too, Richard. I got over it eventually--and then I just kept saying aloud like a total nut: "I love you, Dimash!" And, "God bless you, Dinash!" 😂😅❤

Absolutely love this video and the previous one, superb job boys! My birthday is January 15th, Richard, and you are very much a Capricorn! Regarding Dimash's popularity in the West, more specifically in the US, I personally think he is just too damned special for that market which seems pretty vacuous to me....not meaning to be offensive or anything but it is similar to the music scene here in the UK and that is generally same ole, same ole boring, unintelligent recycled tat! I first came across a video of Dimash in early 2019 on the Chinese show "I am singer", when he sang Opera 2 and I honestly couldn't believe what I was witnessing....there my journey down the rabbit hole began. I listened to and watched everything I could find online and was simply blown away with each new song to me. I was brought to tears on several occasions, despite not understanding a word of Kazakh, Russian, Mandarin for example, the performance he gives every single time is just other-worldly and doesn't need the lyrics to be understood and felt in your core, it is a totally immersive experience listening to him. I grew up in a musical family, we often went to the theater and saw plays and musicals, my sisters and I played a variety of instruments and were in the various choirs at school, both our parents were lifelong fans of Luciano Pavarotti and went to the opera whenever they had the chance, my father was the organist at church too so yes, music was a big part of my childhood and that might perhaps have given me a head start into being absolutely open to what this young man has to offer. I cringe sometimes at his pronunciations in English then remember I know about three words in Russian so I check myself, lol. Each person listening to Dimash sing is going to take something different away from the experience and I think therein lies his true talent. He appears to be very grounded, very genuine and very humble too and a fantastic ambassador for Kazakhstan 🇰🇿 😀. My youngest child actually requests to listen to him when we go on our long car journeys, she is 20 now and appreciates his vocal ability and the sheer power that he has...she said it was better that he didn't have such a huge following in the West because that might ruin him but actually I think there are many thousands of people across the World who understand him and just get him. Every time I listen to a new track to me, it becomes my favourite with Ikanaide being the current favourite and I love all things Japanese and sing that in Japanese along with Dimash, beautiful song and his version is better even than the original. I also love watching reactions to his songs and those are done by so many people from different countries, from varying backgrounds musically and educationally (none have the particular mix of analysis and helpful insights you guys have which is why you are my favourite reaction channel) that are also just blown away when they hear him. This was meant to be a quick comment, failed miserably!! I thank you for this video, for your insight into Dimash and his phenomenal success and look forward to future videos reacting to him, we are all now eternal Dears.

Someday you guys need to see Dimashs performance of SOS in London. He was honoring his close friend, Denis Ten, Kazakh world renown ice skater who was murdered. Denis skated to SOS in a competition. He had to walk off the stage. Very tragic. Dimash honored Denis’s mother in another concert when performing SOS too. I’m always amazed at how many languages Dimash sings in a concert. Truly genius on so many levels.

The concert was shorter, he has a greet and meet after the concert, its a first that he did not introduce his band while singing screaming which usually lasts for 30 minutes. So I suggest to react to Screaming in Almaty concert to get that experience, how he appreciates his band and going into the crowd. In Budapest, he was restricted to go to the crowd aside from that brief interaction in the first row but so quick, Dimash loves to interact with his Dears😢

So, it has taken a few days to get through to the end and I am watching the last section on the morning of Dimash’s 30th birthday and I am sobbing quietly with the family cat snuggling closer than this antisocial b usually does (she comes when I listen to Dimash- even animals are charmed by his voice!). Can only imagine how those dears who are blessed to be going to Dimash’s concert today are feeling! (Including John Reeves!). I just caught your comment about your needs and erupted in giggles from sobs - what a peculiar combination of emotions?! (I had been questioning in my mind how you managed to sit through this entire video especially with the coffees!). I’ve thoroughly enjoyed your breakdown and commentary about the amazing concert you witnessed. Cheers from Canada!
