I think their plan was originally Malakai Makaisson as a FLC LH. After they updated the format, Malakai has become a DLC LH for the dwarfs and Epidemius is the new FLC LL, since Epidemius would be a relatively easy model to make wth clear special rules and campaign mechanics

Elapeth LL with Bruckner LH makes the most sense when Tamurkhan is the Nurgle LL. Schwarzhelm can come out at a later time. It makes little sense for him to be here.

I hope CA makes knightly order Grand Masters a lord option - they could generate unique lords for each order through the same method they used to give the various Vampire Count faction lords (Blood Dragon, Van Carstein, etc).

Great to see you back, I would be interested to hear your views on the general dlc policy, as part of me feels like people were so surprised that the backlash caused CA to add in more units, whether they could have been squeezed a second time to justify the price rise in wider reworks.

I'd rather have Elspeth be the only dragon rider. I'm not really a big fan of the Empire getting dragons in general - as that seems more like an elf thing. I do think that CA could make the Imperial Zoo more relevant in game by making them a game mechanic, where you complete tasks and get rewarded with the option to give your appointed Elector Counts (the non-legendary ones) unique mounts.

One way to make Epidemius more enticing is spicing up his mount. Instead of just one wooden throne carried by Nurglings, like every other of Nurgle Herald. Maybe have a whole bunch of Nurglings stacked on top of each other, and it's a living Leaning Tower of Pisa. Or maybe reuse the huger palanquin used by Unclean Ones. Only instead of being filled by one giant fat dude, all the extra space is used for accounting junk like books and abaci/abacuses.

they have the chance to make epidemius a champion that doesnt need to necessarily be involved in the combat, making it more original as a hero, which you could keep hidden on a corner of the battlemap as it counts your kills and slowly buffs up your army from its hiding spot. and if you fight against him, it could be a goose chase, making sure to try and get rid of him firstly before you get casualties, making the defending player also having to worry about his positioning or defenses in the army

Garagrim Ironfist is the MAIN LL for a Slayer army.

If the slayert engi is the LL i think the generic lord will be just an engineer. Hero could be the slayer here that is a anti large dualist.

I think it's likely we'd get a Nurgle FLC Legendary Lord, Gutrot Spume! I think he might end up beeing the FLC LL, keeping Tamurkhan as the Nurgle DLC LL, and introducing Blight kings at the same time for both. And Epidemius as LH for nurgle. It all depend if we'll see more DLC for Nurgle after this, I'm not 100% sure we will.

I wonder if Marienburg could end up being an independent faction - I recall someone mentioning a couple months ago that Marienburg had their own settlement design?

I can kinda see the free hero/lord being Alaric the Mad. Especially considering they are adding the Nemesis Crown to the game as well. But by far the easiest prediction is the generic lord and hero for Nurgle. There is a 99% chance they are going to be the chaos lord of Nurgle and the chaos sorcerer of Nurgle. It helps out Nurgle and also the warriors of chaos, just like they did for Tzeentch.

I enjoyed listening to your predictions and they seem to be mostly on point ( something CA could do ) I do however have one little remark, it is that you didn't include the flc LL ( yes CA stated they are going back for a LL instead of LH in terms of flc ).

What makes me sad about the statement about CA currently burning is that the possibility of multiple missing factions could now or is now just be a hopeless pipedream

I agree with a lot of what you are saying. But I personally think it's more likely that Grimm Burlokkson becomes the legendary lord while Malakai becomes the legendary hero.

Although Warhammer Total War improved graphics considerably over the Medieval Total War 2 Mod, the fact that Creative Assembly is just now "finishing" the Empire faction after like 7 years is wild. Not even just finishing though, paying a considerable amount for the dlc to make it a complete faction. I can't support CA into the future.

For the dwarf I had a though. If Burlaksson would be the DLC legendary lord, it would be good to have the lord choose be a Guild master engineer of some sort to allow the dwarf a Range lord choose. And if makison then tge lord choose would be a slayer. I'm just a bit sad really, if this would be the last DLC for tge dwarfs then they won't be getting a ranged generic lord choose but another Melee one.

They'll add the shard dragon using the frost wyrm/cathay dragon skeleton. I want a generic engineer lord more than any slayer.

With Tamakahn (don't know the spelling) Just make the different host different mounts he unlock while he levels.

I feel with Tamukhan his body switching could take the form of different mount options, ending with his ogre form with toad dragon

Especially a rivalry between gelt and von draken, then parallel they could introduce an authority rivalry between todbringer (who I think is the most likely FLC Lord) and karl franz. Edit: Makaisson as a lord feels weird lorewise considering hes pretty disdained among orcs, tho I love the combo of slayer and engineer.

Why do all these predictions ignore the elephant in the room? The Nemesis Crown coming from the dlc. I think that will be dwarf focused since it is a dwarf focused story. Which means I think they will pick the lord based on that. The most obvious choice if they are going to pick a lord from Nemesis Crown would be Joseph Bugman. Malaki makes no sense as a lord. He makes perfect sense as hero though. Since originally we were getting a FLC hero instead of lord with the hint toolbox. The most likely person that referred to was Malaki who would be usable by empire and dwarves and maybe even Kislev since all FLC heroes have been usable by multiple factions like Aekold for warriors of chaos and his monogod faction.

I think there is an opportunity for CA to release a lore pack filled with legendary lords and heroes they couldn’t make unique campaigns or factions for.

For some reason, I kept hearing Toe Dragon instead of Toad Dragon. To be fair, a "Toe Dragon" would be in line with Nurgle. 😎

A gutrot spewm maritime would be awesome, Also gotrek and Felix as legendary heroes instead f what they are now.

I just can not see them doing the ogres and siege giant's Incorporated into the 5 units for nurgle when they have thematic actual nurgle units missing. No one has talked about nurgle spine beast that they already have concept art of. 100% pestigores and toad dragons. With chaos dwarfs already having the skeleton and base to build off of from their tanks we pretty much getting the axe throwing machine thing I forget what it's called.

It would be weird thematically for most Dwarves to follow any Slayer but Ungrim into battle. I would like to see engineer lords, Slayer heroes, Malakai LH, and Burlakkson LL.

I really hope we get Rot Knights. Toads are a lower tier and pretty underwhelming unit. Having some form of elite mobility would be nice. Rot Flies could fill that role if they were buffed, but currently are pretty trash on the level of harpies.

(Ramble and 'rant' incoming. Enjoy if you read) I do think it's a little malodramatic at the start but hopefully once Thrones of Decay comes out we can all move on. Would be great to be in the mindset of this game where it's generally excitement and less people calling you a pathetic shill for liking it. As for the FreeLC character it was likely Malakai Makaisson since he could go to Empire and Dwarfs. Now likely being converted into the Dwarf LH but also used by the Empire. Some of the reasoning is a bit odd but I agree more or less for the Empire but a couple exemptions. For the Legendary Hero I suspect Jubal Falk as he'd be the most unique and fitting for the Engineering theme. Bruckner could work but I could see him as a unique Hero. Like Henri Li Massif with Repanse. Swartzhelm has to come with Helborg. I see Empire easily getting another DLC. And combining the Ulrican units, missing knights and characters. LL: Kurt Helborg LH: Ludwig Swartzhelm GL: Grand Master GH: Warrior Priest of Ulric Units: - Knights of the White Wolf - Teuturgan Guard - Hunting Hounds of Ulric - Rieksguard on Foot - Sisters of Sigmar (my personal wishlist) But that's just my hope anyway. Now onto the Imperial Dragon. I think it should be a thing and a mechanic. But instead of a mount for Karl an RoR style unit. One you need to build the Imperial Zoo to tier 5 and maybe a skill in Karls line removes Rampage and boosts the Dragon/ Drastically lower upkeep. Since only he should be having it. It should not be a mount though. I think the Knights Panther are fairly likely. Depending on if the Nuln Ironsides are an RoR or simple a unit. Maybe Long Rifles tier 3 or 4 and them tier 5? Hotpot I want too. It's silly but also fits the engineering theme. They could then have the Moot as it's own province give the Soup Steamtank as a unique province unit of it. Silly as a tank that shoots soup but we need halflings represented. For Tamurkhan I think it'll be his Ogre body only. I can see in the trailer it opens with the dead Slaanesh champion and his maggot form controlling the Ogre. Maybe some twitching and a pan up as we just miss it entering the Ogre. Narrowly missing the full horror as the crowd cheers 'Tamurkhan! Tamurkhan!' before he picks up his axe and triumphantly roars. So its set after that but will reference it. I also suspect they'll say he killed his brothers in Zanbijin. to provide an update to the lore and let us know the others aren't coming, sorry. Epidemius should be the FreeLC LL. Like Changeling is the minor Daemon LL fro Tzeentch. Skulltaker and Masque for Khorne and Slaanesh respectively too all as FreeLC. I suspect Tzeentch will get Egrimm as a FreeLC LL. So everyone has Minor, Greater Daemon LL plus a famous mortal. Sayl I hope will be a Norscan LL he would be a cool Human sorcerer for them and used Mammoths in Tamurkhan so fits. The LH in the DLC is surely the Kayzk. As for the Lord and Hero (Generics) I think it's safe to say the Chaos Lord of Nurgle and the Chaos Sorcerer Hero of Nurgle. Finish that up but they'll have even more mutated and spooky models. For the units I'm thinking; - Feral Toad Dragon (Nurgle and WoC) - Pestigors (Nurgle, WoC & Beastmen (maybe Daniel too I don't recall if he got Tzaangors?)) - Bile Trolls (Nurgle, WoC & Norsca) - Rot Knights (Nurgle & WoC) - Great Spined Chaos Beast (Nurgle, WoC, Beastmen (eventually)) or Plague Ogres (Nurgle & Ogre Kingdoms) I don't think they will or should do other marks for Ogres, Trolls or the likes of Giants. I could see if Tzeentch gets another pack the magic trolls mentioned in a lore blurb but everyone doesn't need the same. Chaos is most unique with what makes the big 4 asymmetrical. Now onto the Dwarfs Malakai should be the LH also available to the Empire and maybe Kislev. Given all his novel appearences and he teachers at the Nuln Gunnery School. Then he can go with Gotrek and Felix as the Empire would be the only one to get them all including Ulrica. But maybe Kislev too if he goes to them. Burlockson works better as the LL. As a Slayer Engineer no one would reasonably follow. Much like no Slayer Lord outside Ungrim who's a king first. Plus in some lore Burlockson made the Thunderbarge. So it's possible new lore has it be a collaboration. The DLC overall being Slayer and Engineer based. I do find the idea of 'he was likely the FreeLC LH so they made him the paid LL!' To be rather silly. They already would have had a LL for the Dwarfs so why toss them and switch it all around? If they want the FreeLC LL to not be Nurgle I see 2 options. Josef Bugman if Dwarfs and Marius Lietdorf for Empire. Kurt Helborg is too big to not be in a DLC (my idea above) and Toddy is surely not coming until we get Middenland units (also see above). As for the Lords and Heroes. I see an Engineer Guildmaster Lord (mounts from Gyrocopter (both variants) and Bomber) and the Daemon or Dragonslayer Hero. For reasons mentioned above. Also fits as Burlockson LL with Engineer GL and Malakai a Slayer LH with Daemon/ Dragonslayer GH. I do respect your different thoughts though. I never considered the Brewmaster so congrats on being outside the box. For units I think the following; - Thunderbarge - Doomseekers - Goblin Hewer - Steam Drills - Grudgerakers (but if they're an RoR for Thunderers something else) or maybe Drakefire Pistols I could see Bugman either being FreeLC via a White Dwarf (which we still haven't gotten in game 3 and he pairs with Grombrindal and Gotrek with it). Giving us the missing runic things and odd units here and there. Maybe a Runepriestess of Valaya Hero? Maybe the Brewmaster as a Lord? Units could give us; - Runic Guardians - Runic Golems - Shieldbearers (buff unit and also mount for Rune Lords) I'm sure you could dig up 2 more. Assuming the format remains. Super wishful thinking but lets go nuts. Sorry for the ramble but felt it's somewhat concise. Thanks for reading!

I really hope you are wrong on the focus on Slayers cause if the Dwarfs end up getting a bunch of new slayer variants this DLC might be worse than them just getting nothing especially for it likely being their last DLC - slayers are the worst units in the dwarf roster and even Ungrim doesn't really make them any good or worth using - their only redeeming qualities are being quickly replaced and being unbreakable both of which still don't make anyone with half a brain recruit them in anything but the most dire circumstances where you need an emergency army Would just be more slop thrown at a faction that already has some of the most boring and repetitive units in the game

they've also mentioned for face reworks for SoC which they mostly decided not to do. so their words don't mean much

we really need a steam tank rework instead of a battle ship (which only exists in marienburg). snipers for empire would be horrible. it's not needed. nuln ironsides will hopefully just a ror. imperial dragon for franz would kill his character as he has been shown with his griffon over and over again in trailers. hot-pot is a ror unit. and you missed the (reiksguard) knights on foot. for nurgle we are missing the spined chaos beast from the artbook. so siege giants are more unlikely. Makaisson is not a Lord character. it wouldn't make sense. i guess every one would like to play with him so he will be a hero. axe hewer is a ror unit. and why is this a slayer themed DLC? the toolbox hint and the starting position could also be a engineer lord and such themed. drills and brimstone pistols are missing as units. so slayer pirates is not really a thing here.

I agree with most of It, but I'd change some stuff. One, with Nurgle i do believe CA could implement the plague kings as "aspiring champions" of Nurgle. We have the option for Tzeentch so why not slowly allow 1 unit for each God? Also the rot knights could work in the same regard, equivalent to dreadnaughts or doom knights, we would just need some Steeds (perhaps the snake like the lord used to have?) With dwarfs i mostly agree but I can see the generic Lord being the Master Engineer (still fits with Malakai) and the dragon slayer as Hero (due to slayers not being able to be generals for the most part). And would let you field full Slayer armies with both Slayer Lengendary Lords. Also the slayers with chain axes should actually have some missile resistance by their rules if i remember... Something like as they twirl and twist, arrows get deflected by the chains. They could also be fun as "goblin fanatics" for other Slayer units as well 🤭

I'm gonna refer to what you said at the beginning of the video, the little story about CA, Shadows of Change and Pharaoh I really hate the narrative of "we showed them, they'll have learned the lesson!". Did we? Really? I'll list what I know about this whole situationb - With Warhammer 3 they started releasing DLCs priced at like $15 instead of $10 if my memory serves me well (earlier DLCs like Champions of Chaos), nobody cared - With Chaos Dwarfs they raised the base price to $20, people started noticing but accepted it because new content - Then they raised the price to $25. Now this here is important. The claim is that it was an awful mistake. IIRC LegendOfTotalWar said that his sources told him CA actually made more money than usual on this release, though there were less sales. We have no data to ever confirm or deny this, but we have enough grounds to realize that we don't actually know if they were financially hurt by the DLC pricing - Now they reduced the price down to $20, from what I've seen on Reddit most of the community there already accepted the price - As far as game development standards go, their releases offer a couple of new models (some/all reusing old animations) and a reused/rebaked mechanic or two, which is absolutely laughable value for the buck compared to whole ass games released for only 1.5x of the price. I know that stuff being overpriced for these kinds of games (living off DLC releases) is typical, but this is overpriced to a whole new scale - All this time they've been putting an ABSOLUTELY MINIMAL amount of money into maintaining the game and they keep getting away with it despite people having noticed a huge quality downgrade over even Warhammer 2. By now they've probably saved up a lot of money by doing this Honestly, sounds like they are doing an amazing job of maximizing the profit they can get off of this community. Minimum maintance costs, raised the baseline price that is now going to be accepted by the majority of EVEN their vocal customers. Have we really showed them? What's a little PR fire compared to years of releasing overpriced content for a game you cheaped out making and now barely maintain, they literally saved costs and maximized profit at every step The little PR thing that happened is comparable to huge tech companies paying fines every other month. It's just costs of running the business, not an actual effective punishment

Imho, Elsbeth is better as a legendary hero. She isn't really the leader of anything and more of an advisor jumping in and organizing Nuln's defense. I'd rather like to see someone with some political importance. Also I'd prefer the land ship to be held back for the DoW.
