From the almost slapstick levels of cartoonish violence to.the moustache twirling bad guys with focus on the gratuitous, Aron seems like he'd really like the Danganronpa games. Honestly though, the plot summary and everything makes this book sound like it would really shine as a 90s point and click adventure game with schlocky effects and live action characters.
@L1ncore

Oh gd.. ive been reading Aaron Beauregard’s books for awhile now, and you’re so right. A 90s throwback style point n click game adaptation of his stuff would be amazing. Really hoping this book leads him to do more interactive storytelling in the future. even if it’d just be a full on cyoa book.

I whole heartedly recommend Kakegurui which is the upbeat counterpart of such stories, with a rather strong message about self liberation not said out loud, but you can tell characters just become more free as the show goes on. And its just super entertaining to watch, sometimes its kinda h*rny, there are one or two bloody scenes, but its realy a super fun anime I need to rewatch after this likely grim dark story
@Nassifeh

I thought of this immediately and then even more so as it went on, because Kakegurui actually explains the rules of every single game, and it's actually possible to follow them even if you haven't played them before!
