This video genuinely means so so much to me as someone who's experienced delusions. My specific thing was believing I was genuinely subhuman in some way. Not that other people viewed me as such, just that I WAS. Oftentimes I even felt I had tricked people into thinking I was a real person. I was a liar. I felt awful. I had someone tricked everyone close to me into believing that I was something worth their time and energy. I ended up being pretty open to my friends about the belief as a result. They were largely understanding. Obviously, none of them believed it the same way I did, but they still accepted it quietly and kept me around. But I remember one specific person who just. Couldn't seem to fathom it. I think the fact I was double bookkeeping really threw them off. But they said something to the effect of "Well I think you're great. And if you think otherwise that makes you delusional"...like, yeah, that's kind of Exactly what I'm trying to tell you?? I know they meant well, but it hurt. God, did it hurt. Anyways. I guess all of this is to say thank you for the care you put into explaining delusions and the consideration of those who suffer(ed). “Even if the delusion sounds absurd, the distress of the person experiencing it is real” meant more to me to hear than you could ever know
