A company have unveiled a robot dog companion - with flamethrower attached.
Throwflame say the Thermonator is the first-ever flame-throwing quadruped robot dog.
The Ohio-based firm have announced the $9,420 bot is available for purchase by the general public and government agencies for the first time.
Able to avoid obstacles and leap through the air, the device has laser sighting and can operate for an hour.

@@ULOVEKYLE I do. I just bought one yesterday. There's a dude with a large, aggressive pit bull in my neighborhood that won't keep his on a leash. This will be my deterrent, and last resort if he doesn't muzzle his dog or comply if he doesn't heed our polite requests.

@@johnwayne9828It's awesome for pest control or controlled burns since you wouldn't have a person exerting themselves, just operating the dog. Probably decent in frigid environments like the arctic where you might need to defrost a door or something else important.

You could put pretty much anything on the back of the robot; a couple KZfaqrs already made a firearm robot dog and Boston dynamics has dogs with graspers. If you're savvy you could attach a extinguisher to the robodog.
