Lots of you guys love Phone Rebel cases. I get it, the Gen 4's were awesome. But how about the new Gen 5's? I've been testing my iPhone 15 Pro/Pro Max cases for a month now and here's my verdict:

Mous cases run 69.99 to 99.99 for the blue or green never paid over 50 for a phone rebel case the gen 5 or the gen 5 frosted, grip on it insane, that’s what most people complained about on the previous versions, so they stepped it up

I love my Phone Rebel Flex case which I’ve had for 3 years for my iPhone 12pm. I love its minimalism. I’ve stuck a magnetic ring on the outside to improve its MagSafe compatibility. And bags of room for charging cable.

I have both the mous limitless 5.0 and the phone rebel gen 5 and both are great cases. I use the phone rebel gen 5 most and have just got all my customisable buttons and lens protector. The metal rebel sign hasn’t marked my phone up. As for the usbc port. All my anker cable fit perfectly and I use MagSafe most of time so don’t use that as much anyhow.

Does the frame of the camera from the inside touch the back of the phone, cos i read in somewhere in their site there is someone who first time dropped his phone with this case and the metal rim shattered the back oh his phone

I went with the Rebel case over the Mous one for a few reasons - comfortable to hold, no sharp sides like the Mous case - stronger MagSafe magnets - better access to screen - grip will make sure I don’t actually drop my phone (although admittedly I wish it was a bit less) - the aramid fibre on the back is more grippier and more fingerprint resistant - the look can be mildly altered with the customizations I’ll admit, tho, the biggest shortcoming is the USB-C cutout, but it works with almost all my cables (including the Mophie one recommended here and my backbone controller if you squeeze it in)

I also returned my Mous case and went with the Rebel gen 5 mainly because of the sharp edges on the Mous and its MagSafe was really weak. I also found the Mous case to be pretty slippery.

Phone Rebel is superior to Mous Limitless and has been for years. It’s not even particularly competitive, IMO. This dude clearly has a some weird bias against a case designed by a KZfaqr.

Had 2 froster versions (sierra blue and black) and they both broke. Bought a flex case for my mom and her phone broke when she dropped it from her pocket and it destroyed the back of her 12 including her camera. My 13 went through 2 cases that had fitment problems but is still working

I prefer the rebel case instead of the Mous. Best protection and less bulky then the Mous case. I have no scratches on the back since I use it. Anyway, thank you for the video. Always count on your opinion.

I own the Frosted & Aramid Fiber GEN5, and the only con is the port cutout but I use MagSafe so 🤷🏽‍♂️ the back of the phone doesn’t get scratched from the metal hardware either. Value-wise GEN5 & ESR Hybrid are the top iPhone 15 cases out hands down.

Hello friend! I’m about to buy one of those, but I’m a little bit concerned about the buttons. I saw there’s no inner protection for the buttons, that means the metal of the buttons directly touch the titanium buttons of the iPhone and in a little bit worried about scratches. After all this time using it, the buttons didn’t scratched your iPhone? I hope you can answer. Thanks a lot!

I bought mine for $45 USD, it's not $70. My biggest gripes with the case are the USB-C cutout being way too small and the rough feeling grip. Most of the cables I use fit fine though. I really wish the sides were smoother though, it doesn't feel nice to hold. Apart from that I absolutely love the case.

I have the phone rebel gen 5 case for my iphone 15 pro and the one thing that annoys me is the charging port cut out doesn’t allow me to use my native union cable

I used to be a mous case guy from when I had a 11 pro, then a 13 mini. But on my 14 PM I started with a phone rebel gen 4, then got the benks armor pro. I’m currently rocking the gen 5 rebel as I saw it was compatible with the 14 pro max. I didn’t like the fact that a lot of new aramid fiber cases were coming with metal camera rings, but only on the new phone models. Weird gripe I know. I figured I could try it out and return it if I didn’t like it. I exclusively wirelessly charge at night, so the (lightning) port cutout is a non issue for me, my phone is treated as a port less iPhone so I could care less. Doesn’t mean that this isn’t a dealbreaker for some. Since switching I’ve actually really appreciated the feel and changes of the gen 5 over other cases. The buttons are infinitely better than the gen 4, as they don’t sit proud of the tpu and snag. A good visual is a very scientific description, where the dashes are the tpu. Gen 4 -[_]- vs gen 5 _[_]_ I pay for Apple care +, but mainly for drops of significant heights while working on scissor lifts, or accidentally dropping a metal pipe connector on the screen etc.

The indentation in the sides are really good. It gives a strong hold on the iPhone even if you don’t press along the sides. I like the Frosted version compared to the Aramid version, it has a really secure fit.

I’ve owned both Mous and Phone Rebel and the Gen 5 is so much better than the Mous (granted I’m talking the frosted not the aramid). I got mine for $38 after tax and shipping so I don’t know where $70 comes from. The grip is awesome. I dropped my Mous constantly because of how slick it is and had to use a MagSafe pop socket for it to even be usable. With the frosted gen 5 the pop socket has stayed in my dresser. Half the cost of Mous. Doesn’t slip. Awesome screen access and I charge with MagSafe so the usb c (using mophie cable which fits fine) very little is no problem. I really don’t get the hate he has for phone rebel. Even if I “upgrade” to get the blue titanium button and camera lens kit my total price would be marginally more than Mous. But I see no need to do that. I love this channel but I couldn’t disagree more with the overreaction in this review.

Can you do a drop test video of the Mous Limitless 5.0 on the iPhone 15 Pro. You have it at number one but I’ve seen a lot of people posting pictures of the back glass cracking from a drop in their cases.

No phone case will 100% stop your phone from breaking. All cases have had broken phones inside them. But the likely hood of it happening goes lower with certain cases. But no company offers to replace you’re phone if it breaks in there case as no matter what you do they is always factors outside you’re control that will break you’re phones back glass or screen.

I’ve had one since the new iPhone came out. I like the grippy sides. I do not like the small cut out for the USB-C. Overall I’m sticking with it for now. I would be interested in your review of the Oh Snap 4 Luxe and how it would hold up over time. I like the idea but the flimsy plastic hinge seems like it would be a failure point.

If you watch some of his older videos he talks about the flex series I don’t think he will give his opinion but maybe a miracle will happen 🤨🤷🏻‍♀️ since my natural titanium sides are now tarnishing probably would recommend a full case

I used the Gen 1 flex series with my iPhone 11 for ~3yrs. Deop protection is identical to the full sided but my screen protectors tended to get cracked on the side. Also I carry my phone in the same pocket where I clip my knife, and the knife scraped up the uncovered sides of the phone. Recently upgraded to the 15 Pro and went with a full sided Gen 5 as featured here. I’m very happy with it, Phone Rebel products just keep getting better.

Buttons that are a separate item than the case material so they slide within the hole much more freely. Gives a much more tactile feel than the cases that have the buttons as made into the case material itself.

My Crystal gen 3 Sierra blue had the same issue as everyone is talking about. The case split between polycarbonate and TPU after 7-8 months. To my knowledge because the polycarbonate and TPU join on the sides, the case would split easily. Gen 5 design is changed and it is similar to Gen 2. I have Gen 2 Rebel as well which is still intact. I believe rebel gen 5 is improved and like it that they have full TPU sides.

While the Aramid fiber in gen 5 scratches easily, it somehow hides the smudges well and provides a little bit of texture which you missed to mention.

I'm very happy with my gen 4 on my iphone 14 PM. It has held up very well for 8 months. A screen protector failed but that did it's job and not the responsibility of the Rebel case. I don;t think Id'be happy with the aggressive grip or flashy logo on the Geb 5.

I know its pretty cringy to say this but i think the climate of where you live does affect the preference. If your hands are dry af from the dry climate in the west coast, spiky grips on the rebel5 is the best thing ever.

Well my concern wasn't so much of the quality of life thing that you mentioned. Sure, it's your opinion and probably that's what you cared about the most. However I would choose Phone Rebel for its durability. It's designed to protect your iPhone, and it would definitely sacrifice its "feel" that concerns you the most. However that's not what I'm buying a case for.

I have both mous and phone rebel I prefer to use the phone rebel case I actually like the tire treads makes the case so much easier to use mous still needs more grip I don’t think you mentioned magnetic strength in the video which should be said phone rebel has a much stronger magnetic hold then mous does so if you use a lot of MagSafe accessories phone rebel is probably the case to get.

I've had the Phone Rebel Gen 5 on my phone for a couple of weeks now. I just pulled off the case, and no the metal company tag doesn't scratch the phone. Update: the Ultra Orange didn’t scratch at all. The Blue scratches inside of a week.

Flolab no longer makes their glass screen protectors any more. Phone Rebel makes their own in house now. Gen 1 had microfiber, been using a Phone Rebel since iphone 11, and for my 14 pm i use gen 4 and 5 and a pitaka magez pro 3. Gen 5 is beyond better since Gen 1. Gen 6 philip said will be even better, but it is getting tougher and tougher to take the phone in and out of case.

I seriously loved the Rebel Gen 5 case - except I sent it back because of the USB cut out. That was a dealbreaker for me, but otherwise I loved the case - the buttons, the grip, the look, the feel, just about everything. I ended up going with the Mous limitless, but had the Rebel USB-C been larger, I think that would have been my number one pick.

After 16 months, my Gen 4 case developed a split along the sides where the shinny surface meets the matte finish. Obviously a defect. Never dropped. Rebels response... $20 credit towards new purchase ...doesn't even cover shipping. Do you guys think this acceptable for a case of this price? I contacted Mous and asked them their policy - They would have covered it and the shipping... Mous will be my choice next time. There is technically no warranty with Phone Rebel. Buyer beware.

I have the gen 5 frosted and I absolutely love it. Pretty much the perfect case in my opinion. I stopped using mous with the 13 pro max because the aramid fiber design on the back scratched up really bad . I would choose pitaka over mous when it comes to aramid fiber cases any day.

I do like my gen 5 case, all those negatives you mentioned aren’t that negative to me. I do love the strength of the magnets vs apple silicone case but if the Nomad Horween case had the Rebel magnets, it’d be the perfect iPhone 15 pro case. I do love the Nomad but the magnets are weak.

I have both and they both seem like they’ll last a long time. The rebel is my daily use and while it does show a small amount of wear, I’m only using like 3-4 MagSafe accessories on a weekly basis. I use the nomad case when I want something a bit sleeker when going out. I would’ve bought a mous case but double branding on the back is too annoying to me. Overall, I love both the rebel and the nomad and you can’t go wrong with either imo

@@UmbroKhan No, I'm not. The Gen 3/4 sides are a combination of TPU and Polycarbonate. It always splits apart in between the materials. I don't drop or change my cases either.

I think this is a lot better than you’re making it out to be. Your pet peeves are pros for me lol well most of them. I agree the cutout is pretty dumb and the scratch on the back is also bad but compared to others I still think it’s my favorite case. I came from a casetify case that fell apart exactly 6 months after I bought it. Also I won’t ever trust casetify. So yeah I disagree with you here but still appreciate your own take on this.

The Phone Rebel's Gen 3 and Gen 4 cases doesn't last long. It warps around the power or volume buttons in like 3 months and the sides break apart in less than 6 months. Their warranty is horrible and if you don't live in America, their shipping rates are ridiculous. I paid USD$22 for normal shipping. Don't get me wrong, if the case lasted over a year before breaking apart, I wouldn't mind the expensive shipping and crappy warranty. The case would be my Number 1 too. The Gen-3's design is perfect. Especially the Frosted series. I dislike the Gen-5s spiked grips sides but at least they look like they won't break apart super fast like the Gen-3s and 4s. Despite all their flaws, I truly like their cases. They feel really premium and high quality until they break or warp.

same experience 100%. Customer service was kinda terrible too. They told me just reorder after I get a refund (mine fell apart in 4months.) Ugh...why do I have to reorder if you're gonna give me a refund just ship me a replacement. But because it was $5 more they couldn't. Despite this all being a known quality issue on their end. They promised gen 4 wouldn't come apart, it did.

Now there’s a clickbait title. Phone Rebel makes one of the best cases and it’s true with their gen 5 and especially with their flex 15 series. I have used Mous case and I wouldn’t trust Mous to protect my iphone more than I would Phone Rebel. Port cutout can be improved but Phone Rebel has most other bases covered.

I can’t wait for the video. As these cases are just a trash especially when it comes to the TPU material around the buttons that becomes loose overtime and creates this ( ) shape.

I have had the original Rebel for my iPhone11Pro, the Gen 3 for my 13 PM and and Gen 4 for my 14 PM. These have all been my primary cases and was an early buyer for all of them. I’ve never had an issue the sagging side. TPU quality in my experience has always been very good

@@zc7396cutout at the bottom for him is an issue. Can’t fit different cable sizes. Different people have different needs.

We'll have to wait and see for Gen 5. They did change the design of the sides. My Gen 3's sides starts warping and getting loose around the 3~6months. And I saw on reddit the Gen 4s are the same.

Then why around the buttons I have this ( ) shape. I hope if I can show you all pictures here. It happened to the original gen 3 and then for the replacement they provided to me also.

@@UmbroKhan I’ve had them both every year for the last 3 years and Phone Rebel is hands down better than Mous. Far super front bezel design (claw corner >>>>> ski slope), no lanyard holes which are nothing dirt entrances, accurate cutouts, no rattling buttons, better buttons l, better drop protection, etc.

These cases last 2 months max before they start to warp/bow/peel at different corners or sides. Also, the edges are very sharp. Phonerebel is the definition of trash.
