Great to see the Rover in action.My ex boss,Arthur Carter bought the car through Gerry Marshal,was in fair condition but not good enough for Arthur's huge collection.So I started removing every panel and restored the complete car.Made new alloy front splitters as they were non existing,wings were a little cracked in places but being Glass were an easy fix.Rick Halm and Rob Fowler came over to check out the engine which turned out to be in great condition. Tyres were 11inch wide slicks ,about ten years old.Slightly damp road and the car proved to be quite a handful but at the same time,very forgiving😃

This is an incredible video, one of the best things I've seen posted on youTube. The Guards Trophy Formula 5000 meeting was held on 9th August that year and the event was won by Aussie legend Frank Gardner in a Lola T190. Aside from Roger Williamson's appearance in his venerable Anglia, there were also several contemporary Grand Prix drivers in the F5000 field that day including Peter Gethin who finished second here and went on to win the Italian GP at Monza the following September.

Thanks Davy, were you there? As you can see at the begining of the film I've still got the programme. I lived in Italy at the time so there's very little from the UK. I'm putting the films year by year and there are some others from Oulton Park, Brands, Silverstone, Mallory and the very last meeting of modern machinery at Crystal Palace. Keep looking!
