Okay. What's his efficiency? If you're gonna bring up Luka's averages against Dort, at least mention his efficiency, too. Also, does Luka average a triple double against Dort individually or against OKC as a whole, but you're only mentioning Dort? There is a big difference. Luka could still put up great numbers against Dort, but that doesn't mean that Dort won't try to make it tough on him.

It was mentioned Shai is defended well by Herb but he did average 25 against the Pelicans in 3 games before the regular season but against Dallas he averaged 22 and if you take out the 13 points in the last game of the season it would 24 points in 3 games against Dallas. He averaged 30 against most teams and Dallas was amongst the best at slowing him down even before the defense got better with PJ and Gaff. DJJ will earn some respect this series.

@@ortros1I’m really not concerned about Luka’s knee at all. Sure it’s bothering him, but he got to all of his shots with ease the last two games. And shot very well from inside the arc. He just can’t buy a 3. I think the knee is a factor, but it’s mainly mental/drought with the 3 ball.

Luka's knee injury is really affecting the shots he's taking, as he's settling for a lot of contested 3's instead of driving, moving without the ball, backing people down, etc. He also doesn't have the same lift on his shot, so I really hope he's able to mostly recover before the series.

You make a good case for OKC. It will be a tough series. Ultimately, I've got Mavs in 6, but OKC in 7 would not surprise. If the series goes less than 6, that's surprising. Both rosters are nearly perfect with 1 clear weakness for each: the Mavs lack consistent shooters; OKC lacks frontcourt size and depth. The loss of Kleber made what would have been a significant advantage in front court size, depth, and versatility (on both ends of the floor, though more defensive) into an advantage still, but only slight. If certain adages hold true--the team with the best stars usually wins (Kyrie/Luka > Shai/JDub, though not by much), the team with better size usually wins (unless slow and unathletic, which the Mavs are not)--then the Mavs should win, but it's really close.

I think people expect more from Luka which is nuts.. His shot selection, needs to change from outside all they need is better ball movement to find open shots, no matter whose taking it.. These people commenting are retarded they just look at the FG percentage. His numbers are great, aside from FG% which is mostly his 3pt shot selection.

SGA is not in the same tier as Luka, even Luka at 70-80% is better than Shai at his best. Shai is miles behind Luka with overall basketball IQ, assisting ability/ passing vision. I wish they'd stop comparing the two because it's not close

The funny thing is Lukas poor shot efficiency is mostly from him chucking 3s in the last quarter every game to try and kill the game off. He was pretty efficient in the paint and was creating a lot of assists for the team. If Lukas knee improves, he's going to have that plus his usual efficiency when shooting 3s and it won't look too good for OKC

I would say they are on offense, especially in the playoffs. I watched the Clippers and Mavericks series and I saw LA repeatedly iso with PG and Harden. No consistent ball movement to get other guys open. It was frustrating to me watching it because it’s easy to defend when you know the other team’s star players are just gonna iso the whole game. The Thunder play a more free and fast paced offense that can cause problems. As for the Pelicans, they’re a top 10 defense and have length to disrupt guys. Granted, they’re a different team without Zion but that team has plenty of experience and good players. They’re not the Nuggets but they’re a good defensive team.

All these people concerned about Luka’s knee causing inefficiency. Did you watch games 5 and 6 at all? It’s literally just 3s that he cant hit at all right now. Last two games he got to all of his shots with ease, and shot the 2 extremely well. And played great D. He does need to hit more 3s, but it’s far more mental than the knee. Luka is fine physically.

I have OKC in 5. I don’t see them losing a game at home and I think they can definitely take a game from Dallas in their home court. I am worried about game one as you stated they’ve had a long break and that could be worrisome when they had that long break before the pelicans series the first game was definitely iffy on OKCs part. Hopefully SGA being a dad now gives him a boost like it seems to do for everyone else haha. Exciting series!! Go Thunder! I think Luka has an enormous series. Although the OKC defense is better overall than the clippers, they have no answer for Luka. Luka has eaten Dort alive in his career when matched up, and there is no other guy who matches up well with Luka on paper. Additionally he is due for a whole heap of positive shooting regression. I think the series largely comes down to if Chet can hold up against the mavericks size on the interior and if the mavericks can stop the relentless three point attack of OKC. Mavs in 6, size and physicality historically beats out finesse in the playoffs.

i think clippers is much harder than OKC. They are young but something is missing from them. He could’ve been an x-factor for sure. Mavs can’t go small ball as easily without Maxi…he was also the best 3 point shooting role player against the clippers too, which is pretty big considering the team is already shooting pretty poor from the 3 already
