I like how the label says "Thunderbird" twice. Like they wanted it to look fancy, but someone said "Wait, our target market might not be able to read it in fancy cursive. We better add BLOCK TEXT above that."

That's a new label. The most recent one I remember was red/yellow. Just said Thunderbird across the top and had the circular Tbird logo in the middle.

I highly recommend reviewing Arbor Mist. It's tagline is "a fine wine product" and we call it "the Velveeta of Wine"

As soon as he uncapped the bottle, I literally had an indelible scent memory of what I could only describe as "wine" scented nail polish remover. In my youth, a friend and I discovered the economy and slightly hallucinogenic properties of Thunderbird, with a Mickey's Big Mouth chaser. We called this evil pairing the Low-die cocktail.

Once upon a time in the Army Reserve, we mixed Thunderbird, Night Train, Mad Dog, Wild Irish Rose, and MRE grape cool aide. I called it permanent brain damage, or PBD for short. The ensuing hangover the next morning felt like a metal spike was driven through my head, temple to temple. There was some hideous gargoyle with a little metal hammer tapping on the spike about once a second. Tap, tap, tap, tap......

In south Texas, frozen margaritas are common fare in restaurants, but not all of them have hard liquor licenses, so they sell wine-aritas. I used to work in a restaurant that won awards for their winearitas. Using Thunderbird.

I have always contended that Thunderbird is made by taking a 5 gallon bucket to Skidrow and paying winos to piss in it. Then, back at the factory (not distillary or winery, but factory) they add equal parts Welch's white grape juice and kerosene.

@@imaramblins The only ones I see anymore are MD20/20, WIR, and Boone's Farm. I don't know where/how this guy got a bottle of T-Bird. I bought a bottle as a gag gift about 10 years ago and haven't seen it since. Possibly homeless people and high school/college kids are still buying it. Who knows.

Where/how did you get that? I haven't seen it on the shelf anywhere in 5 or 6 years. What's the word? Thunderbird! How's it sold? Good and cold! What's the jive? 'Birds alive! What's the price? .30 twice!! Thunderbird was Gallo's companion product along with Ripple (carbonated, fortified wine) which was a favorite of Fred Sanford, and Night Train Express which was the "mean wine" consumed by Joliet Jake in The Blues Brothers. ps. love the term "fruit jerky".

Similar price point to T-bird if we're going to be honest, but it's a legit Chilean red. God knows you've earned it. HNY

I'd love to see real wine reviews too but I think what makes this guy's videos so hilarious is the absolute abomination beverages he chooses to review. If he started reviewing actual (read: good) wine, he may lose his audience. There's entertainment value to reviewing Everclear as opposed to a Francois Raveneau Grand Cru Chablis.

I use to drink it in the late 70s because at a party no one else would drink it so I had it all to myself. They changed the formulation in the mid 80s to a slightly sweeter taste but still 20% alcohol. The 70s version tasted like watered down vodka strained through dirty jock straps as I imagined it might be like. I think it was around 75 cents a bottle

Thunderbird *is* Gallo, and last I heard they discontinued that stuff and relaunched with a more 'wine-like' thunderbird in three varieties: cabernet, 'red blend,' and chardonnay. Dare you to try those.

Oh my goodness that is so funny. That is one of the cheapest wines that you can buy. That is the kind of drink that a homeless person on skid row will be drinking on a street corner or in the alley. I've tried Thunderbird before. When I was younger out of curiosity. By seeing the winos in my neighborhood drink that. It is definitely an acquired taste. Thank you for the laughs that was funny.
