The afternoon storm dumped heavy rain on the already storm-weary Houston area and caused some streets to flood. Some cars got stranded on Hillcroft.

I think houston could be the worse city for hurricane seasons and storms

You would think the mayor or the city would get better drainage by now.

You would think residents /people of Houston would be prepared for this type of weather, with plenty of food, water, generators, solar panels, extra gas. but no people are just sheep.

This happens frequently in Houston. They build streets and highways below elevation and then install pumps that are supposed to handle the frequent heavy rain fall. There are several problems with this. Firstly, those pumps often fail. Secondly, te pumps often can’t keep up with heavy inflow that is common in the area. Thirdly, and most importantly, the drains get clogged with storm debris, keeping most of the water on the flooded streets. I witnessed this happening when I lived in the Houston area for many years. They took a street that NEVER flooded and created a new one that ALWAYS flooded. It bogged my mind that Houston and surrounding cities’ officials always had an excuse when cars are flooded, when all along they created this mess. It still boggles my mind that the Houston area news media can continuously report this with a straight face.

Bruh even the smallest drizzles got us out here on the news smh. Feel like this hurricane season everything will have some sort of Harvey effect. I already predicted Beryl coming straight to us before it was in the Caribbean. Hope I'm not right ever again

People Stop asking government for help, we need to be self-sufficient, grow our own food and be smart. Buy a generator -- not - a new iphone or tv. Buy food and water -- not-- go on vacations. Buy solar panels and batteries ---Not --- a new car. Everyone new Beryl world hit Texas and did not prepare. Remember President Kennedy speech "Ask Not What Your Country Can Do For You"
