Thurl Bailey was an unconventional big man ahead of his time. Standing tall at 6 feet 11 inches and not being forced under the rim as he was slimmer with a jump shot. Playing power forward and small forward. Getting out on the run for dunks and could guard multiple positions as he was agile. Bailey was tough to stop on offense because if you put a smaller player on him to defend him outside. He would go to the post and shoot over them. If you went with a bigger guy on him Thurl would pull him out hitting jump shot or go right around him to the rim for a dunk. Often times dunking on anyone in his way. Helping create a successful career for himself. That started at the college level as he led North Carolina State on one of the most improbable runs in basketball history to win the NCAA championship. Defeating multiple household names today surviving and advancing barely each game. Going down as one of the more iconic players in college basketball history on one of its most iconic teams in history. Getting Bailey noticed by the NBA for leading the Wolfpack and Drafted by the Utah Jazz who he would spend the majority of his career with as a 6th man being one of the best in the league averaging just under 20 a game. Finishing second for 6th man of the year twice. Where Bailey would help the jazz reach the playoffs every year he was with the team and often elevated his play in the playoffs winning the Jazz multiple games and series because of his play. Being an Iron man in his tenure with the team. Before bouncing around some to end his career and getting one final season with the jazz to walk off on.

Thurl was a solid Hooper I bring his name up to younger NBA Fans in talks about 80s and 90s players and they have no clue who he is or try and call him a plumber. You are correct he stepped it up in the playoffs all the time salute for the dope content

Thanks Skid for taking my request on Thurl Bailey, who was one of the great sixth man behind "The Mailman" Karl Malone for the majority of his career. What I don't know about Thurl that he played in the TV Disney film "Luck of the Irish" as one of the main character's teammate and friend's dad 2 years after he retired from the NBA. If you get my message, I hope you do on Guy Rodgers, "The Whopper" Billy Paultz or Micheal Ray Richardson. Thanks anyway for uploading Thurl Bailey's career and keep it up.
