Hello, perhaps this is too late but it is in the catalog button (the open book icon under delete) you can look up solve (or just type it in) and the syntax is: solve(x+21=11,x) and it will return x=-10. Don't forget the comma x at the end, that's what you are asking it to solve for

@IntegratedMath
@IntegratedMath 5 жыл бұрын
The CAS doesn't give you a step by step solution. That's what you are there for. The CAS will give you the answer based on what you typed in. Not sure what you're trying to solve but the CAS is rarely wrong. I would check the solutions at the back of most textbooks or talk to your teacher about it.

You can also check your settings to see what your Float setting is. If it’s a really low number it’s possible your calculator rounded up or down. If it wasn’t even close then it’s possible you didn’t save it in DEG? The newest update for all Ti-nSpire calculators allows you to click DEG on the top right in order to change to RADS too which is nice. If not then unfortunately that may only be a Ti-nSpire CX CAS II function. Hope this helped.

I have changed the settings so that exponents are scientific and that calculations are approximate however I am still not getting the correct answers on my calculator. An example of one that we did in class is 2.3*10^3+3.8x10^4 My professor says the correct answer is 4.03x10^4 however my calculator keeps giving me the result of 4.03x10^5. I just wanted to know if there was something further I am missing to adjust on my calculator or maybe I'm inputting it incorrectly. The CAS is expensive I agree. If you want/need a CAS getting one second hand is a much cheaper option. However, CAS batteries are not treated well by second hand sellers. You may get a CAS that has a faulty battery inside (runs out of charge way faster than expected). You can replace the battery if this is the case but it's an added expense.
