Coming back here after Ben beat Francis in the US quarter last night. Prior to the match I thought of 41:13 and just had this feeling he'd pull off the win. That moment of the interview Ben showed he was the alpha at the table even tho he's only 20 years old. He got a different aura to him and is gunna be around for years to come

Coming back to rewatch the interview and seeing Ben get into the semis at the US Open and then the Quarters at the Shanghai masters is just incredible! He is doing so well, esp the last half of the season and in his first yr on tour?! thats just crazy And lets not forget his epic match against Jannik Sinner at Shanghai, you just had to be there!

Even in Mallorca the handshake was a bit cold though. Imagine your opponent got the biggest moment of his career and all you do is give him a 0.5 second handshake. I always get odd vibes from Mannarino somehow

@@mfzoom5401 I wouldn’t consider FAA or Diallo old news. FAA is top 20 & Diallo is young & building his game. Kyrios’ injuries have him over the game. Monfils is headed to retirement with Wawrinka. Winning a 250 is a struggle let alone UTS.

Firstly, I want to say that it's great to see this type of tennis content. As others have said, we need so much more of this. It's easy to see that all three guys have a lot of respect for each other, Eubanks is well known for cheering on other younger American players, Ben inlcuded. While I really like Ben, I think the video should have been just Eubanks and Tiafoe. Ben is 20, Tiafoe is 25 and Eubanks is 27. The age difference and experience on tour doesn't really allow for a balanced conversation. At the same time, I think Ben was cool with allowing the older guys to speak. That's how it is when you're the young buck in a group of older guys, you hold your own but also have to give respect to the older guys. It reminds me of when I use to hangout with my older brother and his friends. Rooting for all three of these guys! And Ben, you're very talented!

Well done! A lot of insight here from 3 players who have completely different tennis upbringings and stories, but share a lot of the same role models. These informal style conversations are way more candid than a traditional interview too, and it’s fun to get to see. It also shows a slice of tennis life we never get to see. I think Ben's got a really big personality as well, but Chris is a talker with heaps of tennis knowledge (when he was talking stats about James Blake, I looked them up on Wiki, he got it exactly right!) and Foe is a massive personality. When you've got 3 big personalities at the table, at least one of them has to go down a little bit! Huge props though, that was fun to watch. Respect to all 3 guys - and yeah, Ben's gonna do some big things in the next decade or so.

Cool to say Eubanks at #43 after the filming of this. I love how they got a little quiet when Ben said he wants to win grand slams and be #1, because they know he's the one out of all of them who could. Eubanks is right that even Alcaraz doesn't wanna see his name in a draw.

I've noticed, if you're not a prodigy, you have to work your way upwards. Lose a lot, gain confidence and find your rhythm. Ben Shelton is no boy wonder like Alcaraz, but he can get to where he wants to go with work. The reason Alcaraz, Rune is mentioned is because of the consistency in their play. They consistently dominate in matches. They consistently play big names and win. Ben has promise and with some work he will get there. That being said, the others can also do it.

Ben is right about the travelling. I was watching an interview with Ed Sheeran and he was talking about going back to all the cities he went on tour again but this time as a tourist. He was saying things like, yes I have been to Japan multiple times but all I saw was the hotel, the concert venues and some bars. I recall hearing Nick Jonas saying similar things. So for these players, they can be in Paris for 2 weeks but they don't/can't go out to eat and drink every night since they have to be in match shape. Of course it is still an easier life than 99% of the world's population but still.....

I think Chris’s attempt to dominate this conversation is a way to deal with his feelings of inadequacies compared to Francis and Ben. This interview made me see him in a negative light, but after his performance at Wimbledon I still see him as a very talented rising player.

Overcompensating. Shelton has the biggest game at the table & had the best 2023 season. Tiafoe was the highest ranked & most famous at the table. Even after Wimbledon QF & #34 ranking, Eubanks was the least impressive one. Tennis knowledge is cool for broadcast tv vamping, but at the end of the day, USA wants winners. Shelton is the one at the table most likely to win a slam. And he knows it. They all do.

41:58 I felt that head hang by Ben, after all the talking Chris has been doing he couldn’t let Ben say his few little words? Chris is very articulate, but he could learn a few graces like allowing others to talk and actually listening. I liked this format but Ben being talked over kinda distracted me and that was disappointing.

I got really excited when they started talking about Donaldson. If a producer decided "meh, it's derailing Chris' story" please consider not thinking that way. As a lifetime fan, I live to hear pros talk about other pros candidly. And then Chris's story could have continued. Stories about changed flights and driving are cool too, but come on... please. Just in the future.
