thank you for this ! you are the reason that i found the facebook groups and i am so grateful to you for that AND for talking about the emotional aspect of this injury. i was in a very dark place after my injury and subsequent surgeries. i have 3 plates and 21 pins. i have a type 6 fracture and am 5 months post op and walking with a cane. i wasn’t convinced that i wood even be able to walk again. i’m 61 years old and have osteoporosis. this was by far the very worst thing that has ever happened to me physically and it was pretty damn bad emotionally too. I am finally crawling out of the hole. I wish you the best thank you for helping me and other others.♥️

Im happy your experience with this fracture seems to be a lot better than mine. My girlfriend (at the time lol) left me, about 3 months into my injury, she treated me like a burden every day. As if the mental part of the injury wasn't bad enough. Im 15 months PO (external fixator for 8 weeks, then 3 plates 22 screws, rebuilt tibial plateau with cement and destroyed my meniscus). Doctors have been giving me the run around. I cant get any other imaging than an x-ray. Even with them knowing they screwed tendons through my bone. This is the most frustrating thing ive ever gone through

thanks for commenting in this way! what you said about people not understanding is spot on. But I have to add, it was after surgery (less than 24h after my accident) that even I realised how big a deal it was and the reality hit home!

I'm Michele's husband, thank you again for posting your story - it's very difficult to watch her have to go through this awful experience and your videos definitely gave her hope that it gets better.

is it normal that I cannot bend my knee after 2 weeks post op? Thank you for your videos

Did you know doctors say it is 10.3 per 100,000 people a year? lol I know you are in New Zeland so I did my research. That is approx 2 people a year in Wellington. I guess I understand them not understanding but still. Thank god for the Facebook groups.
