LOVE AND HATE ARGENTINA!
Here it is the video we get the most requests for, as always we have given our honest opinions of our experiences whilst traveling around the entire country of Argentina.
We have loved our time here and are so thankful to the country and people for keeping us safe and well during our travels. We’ll be back one day for sure!
In the meantime, we really hope this honest review of our experiences help you with planning your own adventures in Argentina.

A British couple from just outside London, England. We got married in 2018 and decided instead of a honeymoon we’d travel the world together. We saved money and travel points, quit our jobs, rented our house out and boarded a one way flight in 2020. Loved this video. I was in Argentina for 5 weeks in Nov/Dec and loved it too. I cheated and booked my flights (7) and buses (4) ahead of time and paid the official rate on my credit card. I loved doing the mini-trekking on Perito Moreno but I also loved (and hated) the Fitz Roy hike that took me a total of 12.5 hours. That last milometer over those boulders took me 2 hrs up and 1.4 hrs down.

Sounds like you had a well planned route around, flying is definitely best for limited time but less budget friendly. The hike to Fitzroy is so tough, especially that last bit, our timing was not great with the rain arriving 😅 so worth it though!

Europeans are not used to traveling long distances, from Buenos Aires to Bariloche there is the same distance as from England to Spain, if we have doubts if someone is English or American, one way to identify them is to know what they think about distances, since for a American driving 20 hours is normal.

Most people don't ride buses in America.. everyone has their own car.. 20 hours in a bus would kill the average American 😂

Hey guys, sharing your experiences, the good and the bad are so helpful to others planning. I really enjoyed the scenery section, as it was a great reminder of all of the amazing places you have taken us to 🤩 Hearing more about the challenges with transportation and cash in Argentina does sure make me appreciate this series even more. You two definitely had to work to get to make of your destinations!

We have our first 20 hour bus ride on Friday and not looking forward to it. Fingers crossed we don't get a smelly seat. I can't believe you had to wait 6 hours at WU. There's practically no limit in Ushuasia currently, but the wait is an hour. We'll have to be sure to get out more cash before we leave Ushuaia. Sounds like Calafate is not a great place to use a WU.

Good luck with the bus! Yes get cash out in Ushuaia it’s so much easier there, that was our biggest mistake leaving Ushuaia without getting more cash out before going to El Calafate. You’ll be so glad you did when you see the lines in the street in El Calafate at WU. Enjoy Ushuaia!

On the negative I would add two more, dogshit on the sidewalks and the telephones. How do you get your sim card and then charging it and recharging it very very confusing worst I've seen in any country I've ever been to. Oh but I must add that I do not understand why do people in other Latin countries think of argentines as arrogant? I have not had that experience in months and months and months. I really enjoy the kind and friendly people of Argentina.

Yes you’re right we did see quite a bit of 💩 in BA and Salta (surprisingly not in El Calafate despite many street dogs). Yes getting getting our SIM card topped up was a minefield, we got sent to so many shops and had no idea which plan we were supposed to buy, the people selling them were completely confused too 😅 we definitely didn’t experience arrogance in Argentina either, mainly friendly, welcoming people ☺️

You missed IBERA Wetlands ( on the north east) if you like nature and scenery.Also you could go on a boat to see Whales , and dive with sea lions on Puerto Madryn.

We had to choose to travel along the East or West and the time of year meant it wasn’t likely we’d see whales so we chose our route with that I mind. One day when we come back hopefully we can do it then ☺️

You have no idea how much I have enjoyed watching your videos. I am coming to Argentina in November, solo. I was nervous, but after seeing the two of you I feel I can do this. Thank you so much. It seems like the loves outweigh the hates - or at least they would for me. The nice people, food looked pretty good, the scenery is amazing!! I do think the cash situation would be quite annoying though and I hate carrying cash when I travel and when I'm at home. And the car situation could be bad if you got stranded. The buses seem like they are ok, though a little inconvenient with their routes - except for that disgusting one!! You guys really spent a lot of quality time there and I've loved seeing it through your experiences.

We really enjoy spending a long time in a country and getting to know it well. The cash situation is one that we definitely don’t miss, although we still find we need some cash in other countries but at least it’s easy enough to just get it from an ATM.

A lot of it looks like the United States like Colorado and Montana and Idaho and Northern California. Very similar.

Controls are not the same throughout the country, 2 weeks ago I went from Córdoba to San Luis, I did 1000 km on the whole trip and I did not find any control, other times I did 200 km and they stopped me at 3 controls, I think it depends a lot on the province you are

Nice video!!! The flights in Argentina are expensive because the government (Kirchnerismo) doesnt want competition to his state airline wich is Aerolineas Argentinas that airline its the owner of the sky in Argentina and they dont want other companies becuase they loundry money with it. Corruption :)

Hi guys I've enjoyed your videos about your travelling around the country; most of times, local people doesn't realize how beautiful and broad gallery of landscapes and cultural offerings (in terms of way of living, foods, arts, etcetera) in the different regions; it might seem odd (in a good way) but watching you people discoverying places and describe them with your own words is quite a refreshing experience; thanks for that. And, talking about complications and lacking of this or that facility, is something that any country has but, as you said, if good points are more and stronger than the bad ones, is always worthy to try making your own path, as you did: not being standard tourists, searching for standard experiences, being protagonists of real tourism, instead of expectators of a tailor made show for lazy or short timed travellers. And, finally, i'd like to make a suggestion to improve the experience of knowing a given place (Argentina in this case but also for any other) and make it more "immersive" and complete, for you people but also for your viewers: To add some historical references and cultural review, if relevant according to the place, could be something like a "service" which helps the viewer getting some more than a beautiful landscape's view. And, i think more interesting, make some reactions to te culture of the country you're visiting, like music and to compare the approaches to things between local artists and what you're used to consume, pop music, for instance; i think you would open a window which can show you an immaterial landscape, as amazing as the material one. Just a suggestion for you to give some "differential" to your content, and making it more comprehensive and appealing. Greetings from Argentina

As an Argentinian living in New York for 40 years, I say I'm sorry you had a bad experience, Argentinian people are friendly and work hard bad we don't know how to choose good governments, so corruption is number one, waiting to improve with a new one! Hope that, after all you had a good impression!

You should keep in mind that most of the cars in Argentina are imported. That's why they cost so much. For cash I recommend cryptocurrency exchange houses.

Yes, it certainly makes hiring more expensive. We’ve heard a few people mention cryptocurrency but we know nothing about it.

Many cars are manufactured in Argentina, cars are imported from Brazil and Argentina also sells cars to Brazil, the problem with the price is the amount of taxes.

Wow $40 per day. That does not at all match the general cost level in Argentina.

£40 a day, which is even worse, closer to $50. You’re right it’s so disproportionate to other costs there.
