I believe it’s because to get a territorial pick, you had to forgo your actual pick. Seeing as the warriors had pick 3, they gave up this pick and it’s then fair to call him a 3rd overall pick I would say

@camp2756 I would disagree because even though you gave up your pick it doesn’t allow the player to be taken at any point. Wilt would have gone first overall that year as he was by far the be at player in his class.
