Got the one-cycle Phoenix
Similar strategy to the previous run, but decided to use Darkside against Titan/Bahamut as well as Odin/Alexander. Shifted strategies against Gilagmesh to mostly prioritize basic combo strings to pressure, and then True Strike during actual stagger, though being Slowed threw my timings off a little bit. Darkside could be good against Sephiroth, but sometimes it's impossible to see what he's doing through Firagas and the like so I decided to play it safe. No pressure on Sephiroth this time, but still a clean run.

I suck at parrying. I have to rely on Curaga. It did feel great to kick Virtual Sephiroth’s ass a 2nd time 😎 this is motivating to want to play it again.

Somehow this seems easier without the full party, cause you only have to manage one character. Then the hardest part seems to be to get the parrys down consistently. Can somebody confirm these thoughts?

@@BlueEyesLore I personally find it easier to solo, but optimized full parties will obviously have faster clear times (with or without ATB Ward/Brumal Form). Single enemies like Gilgamesh or Sephiroth especially feel easier to me since they don't target switch and are more consistent as a result :)

Great job! That was God tier! What was Subversion for? I don't think I saw you used it on Phoenix, Titan or Gilgamesh.

It's for casting Dispel on Gilgamesh if he gets Genji Shield buffs up. I've optimized this run slightly, though, you can bait out the shield with Blizzara, destroy it with basic attacks, and then hit Gilgamesh with a Blizzaga, which is a faster way to stagger him. Requires Swiftcast-Ice though.

Its bc he used the ability unfettered fury, which changes her ability’s and attack combo. It’s a new ability from rebirth.

Do you think mage tifa would outpreform?

I tried with Mage Tifa. Mage Tifa has some advantages over physical Tifa--you can check my channel for some boss fights where I think Mage Tifa is a superior option to Physical Tifa. But for Rulers I think physical is the better strategy. I mainly tried with Wind, which might have been a mistake, but I found myself spending a lot of time on the Titan/Bahamut fights when using Fire. Being able to Swiftcast-Fire and Ice is nice for staggering Odin, Gilgamesh, and Sephiroth, though, so maybe it's preferable. Either way, I was able to get low 5-minute times but never anything below 4 minutes.

I have everything maxed out on Tifa as you do yet your Attack is 532 and mine is 507. How?

@@JPmusicbox Materia and weapon skills from the weapon can affect stats. Enemy Skill does +5% strength for example. And I have Physical Atk +20 from Dragon Claws as well. So probably some combination of those things

@@JPmusicbox Ah, so you haven't maxed out your SP. There are manuscripts that are only available from defeating bosses/completing sidequests on Hard Mode that you need to do to max out your weapon level. When you do that, you will unlock 6 materia slots on all of your weapons and all of your stats will increase.

Sonic Boom gives you Bravery (+30% physical attack). Fury Ring is another 30%. Darkside is 20% (on Divekicks). Being at maximum Unfettered Fury level is another 10% I think. Elemental Materia on the weapon is another 23% or something like that. Stack it all up and Divekicks hit for like 7-9k depending on the enemy and elemental weaknesses. I'm also at max weapon lvl (AKA I beat all bosses and did all side quests on hard, so my stats are maxed out). I actually don't have her folio fully completed (you can tell because I don't have Reprieve applied to her lol), but you don't need to in order to max out her stats.

@@Jetstreamhustla Dragon Claws you get from the box breaking minigame in Corel. Fury Ring is a reward from the Colosseum in the Gold Saucer. Materia, you can get all of them from VR missions or Chadley stuff (battle intels).

He couldn’t use Darkside or ATB Boost if he didn’t have any materia on. I wish the game used the Boss Battle Theme from OG FF7 more. It’s superior to every other sound track.
