How does one afford such a beautiful piece of art! I love Tiffany and wish I could afford to buy one of these beauties! Some say Tiffany lost its edge when they created other pieces that were affordable to the masses but I beg to differ! There is nothing like a Tiffany diamond and that beautiful Tiffany Blue box!

hi SartorialPhil, the Schlumberger brooches are little works of art - they don't have to be worn to be enjoyed, a "The Bird on a Rock" is my favorite of all of Jean's creations, and I hope to one day acquire one as you have. I have acquired 3 Schlumberger brooches that totaled together don't reach the bird/rock level, but they are also beautiful. One has a rare color way that you may not have seen, I'll try to send/post a pic.

The citrine is dark with dark brown understones as you called smoky. If it is pure yellow or with slight orange undertone or orange yellow, yellow-orange, yellowiah orange to pure orange it would costs so much more than $30k. I find the $30k pricetag reasonable for that huge bling coz when worn it gives the maximum impact & sure to get attention. In the future I would surely buy something like that but a citrine that is bright yellow like the color of citronella so that it will look identical to the famous Tiffany yellow diamond.
