About Tifo Football:
Informative, illustrated football analysis. Home of WhiteboardFootball®.
Tifo loves football. We know there’s an appetite for thoughtful, intelligent content, for stuff that makes the complicated simple.
Our illustrated and live action KZfaq videos address all aspects of the game, including tactics, history, and the business of football.
We provide analysis on the Premier League, Champions League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, World Cup and more.
Our podcasts interview some of the game’s leading figures. And our editorial covers football with depth and insight.
Tifo Football used to be uMAXit Football - we changed our name in November 2017 to better articulate who we are and what matters to us: making football accessible to its fans through story-telling and the expertise and insight of our team of writers and producers.

Another incident i recall well was in 96 when Cliftonville were away to Glentoran, in East Belfast, myself and my father ventured over only to find that the Dee Street UDA had blocked entrance to the ground. The narrow entry itself was a curse, manys a time we had a variety of liquids thrown at us from the houses in Dee St.

One aspect that I really like is when teams allow themselves to be attacked relentlessly, but they win nonetheless, doing a rope a dope. Is there enough historic material for making a video on this? Not necessarily catennachio, but that could also be fun.

The red hand of Ulster had nothing to do with protestants. It was an anti British symbol used by O'Neill of Tír Eoghain's army that resisted British occupation. Also there is Protestant nationalists and Catholic unionists, also there is both nationalists and unionists who are not religious.

Lisburn Distillery would be a god one. There is connection with Cliftonville's story. Both sides were in West Belfast in what were mixed areas. Cliftonville were viewed as Unionist, Distillery more mixed and traditionally a much bigger club. Both, by their locations, became easy opportunities for sectarian fighting when unionist clubs visited even though those fighting had often never been to a Cliftonville or Distillery game before and had no interest in the clubs. And in 1969 if anyone had been told one club would be burned out of the area and the other would become a symbol of Nationalist Football support you would have banked your shirt on their fortunes being the opposite of what happened. in 1970 for example, when Cliftonville were finishing bottom of the Irish League and their sister cricket club moved out of the area for fear of attack, Distillery won the Irish cup with Martin O'Neill scoring, though the majority of the club's Nationalist supporters stayed away from the game, which was played with very high security outside the ground as local Loyalists expected Nationalists to enter the area and saw an opportunity for trouble.

I'm from the republic, lot of talk of the 2 leagues joining... As much as I would like to a see it, and northern clubs would benefit with more money, I think northern clubs have more to lose. The league structure is great, all fixtures are close by, local rivalries could all be lost if ye fall down the leagues and end up playing cobh, Limerick etc
